Who leaves their horses out at night in flyrugs and flymasks? Ever had any problems doing this?

I do as ours live out 24/7 at the mo and our boy gets conjunctivitis from flies and our lady rubs herself raw on tummy and face when bitten............

Yep, horse allergic to midges and detests horseflies. No problems from the fly rug (apart from his old one, which rubbed - new one's fine). Fly mask sometimes ends up dumped in the middle of the field, though.

My lot all go out in their fly gear at night, without any problems, well apart from 2 of them getting masks off at the other side of the field EVERY morning so have to trudge over whilst 2 smirking horses wait patiently at the gate

Great glad to hear not the only one then as was told that it was dangerous and could cause accidents! I dont see how as horses eyes adjust to dark so whats the difference than day time then and its better than them suffering from evil flies!!
