Hi,

My mare has now been waxed up for 8 days, and we have been up in shifts for 7 nights! we are all getting tired and wishing the foal to arrive soon, I thought generally they had them within 24-48 hrs of waxing up? her muscles have slackened and the foal seems to have shifted back, anyone have any idea how much longer???

I can't be much longer surely if shes been waxed up for 8 days, lol.

Good Luck, fingers are crossed for you. Make sure you put some piccies up ASAP once its born.

will do! hopefully it will be a coloured baby as mum and dad both coloured. she has traces of milk on her hind legs and was off her food this morning (and she is a very gready mare) so fingers crossed it will be soon!

Good luck, I hope, when the foal arrives, everything goes smoothly.

Mine's bagged up, waxed up and in absolutely filthy temper today.

Just out of interest, did you do the "nail test"?

Same here sat up all last night as she too'd and froo'd and wouldnt settle then still didnt have it.
Covered in milk splatters on legs ,just think she's being lazy

whats the nail test??

Mine is very laid back at the moment, to the extent that you have to drag her out of the stable in the morning and then as soon as you let her go in the field she goes and finds a nice place to have a sleep!

Come on lazy mares please have your foals soon!!!

Tried the wedding ring on mine last night and it didnt move at all.
So who knows will find out soon enough.

will have to try it thanks! Apparently woody has been hiding in the field shelter all day so my friend took some hayledge and water in for her, she hasnt eaten any of the hayledge which is very unusual for her, and she has been kicking at her belly, going home to get her in now so we can watch her on the webcam! fingers crossed for a foal tonight!

Good Luck

I think my girl has lost the plot, I've been watching her chasing squirrels out of her paddock, usually she takes no notice of them, but today she is mad at the whole world.

Lol, she sounds like she has gone mad!

Well i went home from work and woody was still in field shelter very adgitated so i got her in, she then proceeded to swish her tail and kick her belly all night, will a little sleeping a bit of rolling alot of peeing and one pile of droppings in 12 hours, but still no foal! hopefully tonight! she went out this morning and just grazed!
