Foal has pneumonia

Mare came in last night for her feed with huge, hot bag, first thoughts were mastistis, foal listless and lethargic, first thoughts dehydrated.

Rang vet and decided to take mare and foal straight up to Leahurst for checking, blood tests done, foal had 2 litres of fluids, foal has been listless all day, has now been diagnosed with pneumonia.

Anyone else had anything similar? :-(
 
yep... fluids, antibiotics regular scans and should be right as rain!!!! I hate when the babies get sick.. Hope yours feels better soon!!!!
 
Quick update, foal is starting to pick up today, still in Leahurst and plans are to continue the treatment and for them to stay until end of next week, so fingers crossed she continues to improve. :-)
