I'm really pleased with the manner in which this wound is healing. This picture was just taken, and it is exactly one month to the day that he did the initial injury by becoming stuck in a hay feeder.

And for those who didn't see the wound when it was done - here is a picture taken on the 27th October.

And just a little photo of some of the babies "enjoying" the -11 temperatures and a light dusting of snow. You can see how heavy the sky is and it has just started snowing again. Winter is here.

-11C!!!!!!!!

A balmy -2C here at the moment, but we do have some snow, loads last night, huge fluffy flakes but it is fast disappearing again now

The ploughs were out last night zooming up and down the concessions.

Very pleased to see that the invalid is on the mend, your others are looking super fluffy......I still have Isabella here for now and her coat is amazing, I really have to burrow through the layers to reach skin. She was so funny to watch when we had the first snow, stood there with her head in the air watching the flakes come down.

The only thing he has been having on it for the past couple of weeks is Hydrocortisone once a day and it is working wonders. When you look at it in real life, it looks like there won't be any scarring, of which I am obviously very pleased about.

Ah we are supposed to get your snow later on today.

The babies are all hugely fluffy although a couple of them still haven't fully shed out of their summer coats so they have little motley bits on them - I think it looks cute though.

When does Isabella leave you?

Isabella is paid up until Christmas Eve, I am not quite sure when she is going, haven't been told, but the girls emailed me yesterday to say that the barn is ready and that 'Papa' is looking at trailers this weekend

They make the journey down from Aurora (about an hour and a half each way) every other Sunday!

Thanks Thistle

, and Ifield, you get used to it - actually it is a bit of a welcome relief after the insane heat in the Summer.

Aww is she a Christmas present for someone? That's a heck of a trip for them to make twice a month

Hi there - well done you. It's looking great can't believe the improvement you must be getting to the point were you quite like watching its progress (I know I'm a bit wierd now). You can even see were it's fusing from the bottom. It's looking really healthy. I reckon we'll both be healed up about the same time- don't you?? Give my hugs to the chappie he's a star in the making and give yourself a big pat on the back. Look forward to your next update.

Hey Deb. Yes both horses look soooo good! I think you are right, we seem to be running parallel with the recovery of them both. I'm so pleased for both of them to be healing so well.

Thanks Law and Harv - the oddest thing is that I can hardly believe that he has never ever taken a lame stride throughout this whole time.

And Merlin - temperatures here get much colder than this believe it or not LOL!! I'm used to it now and -11 doesn't feel too cold anymore.

That is an incredible stroke of luck or the gods were watching- he got frightfully close to that tendon!

He must be made of stern stuff!

I was just about to PM you to ask how Cruise was doing when I spotted this post. The wound looks fantastic and appears to have healed better than anyone could have hope for, bet your daughter is relieved, that her baby is doing so well.
