Would anyone be so kind as to help me shop for a rug for my foal asap!?

she is measuring just short of a 4'' so i need this size as she is growing super quick
I checked robinsons and a few small shops but there all quite pricey so.. **Cheap as poss**:o

Mine is the same size!

Prequestrian on Ebay are selling Landa foal rugs. They are the cheapest I have found for a decent brand - but there may be someone along with a better deal, so don't take my word for it! I have searched Robs, DH, Rideaway, TDS, Eq Clearance, Millbry Hill, Mole Valley, Hey Farm... if I have missed any, let me know :D

My foal is in 4'3 soon to be out grown - weatherbeeta seem to be the best as they fit really nicely. Although I have heard you can get a mark todd foal rug you can extend as they grow.

How old is the foal? Is it totally necessary to rug it (windswept, bare field with no shelter and little grazing/food) or is it for your conscience because you can't bare to see it without?
If it's not poor or in a poor situation then rugs really shouldn't be necessary as they flatten down the coat and stop the insulation and grease proofing that happens naturally if left alone. If it is poor then yes, it does need a bit of help and the best rugs I've found are the Rhino Wugs as they have a snug fit around the neck and shoulders but can have a bit of overhang behind which they can grow into. Be warned, a foal can grow two sizes in a winter sometimes so they don't last long (which is why I like the Rhino) but at least if you've bought a decent quality one you can sell it when outgrown - unless you plan more foals of course!

I'm buying the rug just in case - we were down to -16 last year with an awful lot of snow, so I want to be prepared. Winter turnout is in my round pen and unfortunately the shelter is not great - we are on the side of a Welsh mountain. He may not need one, I'll see how he goes, but I want to be prepared :)
