Ample Prosecco
Still wittering on
Foal Skool again. He more or less has everything he needs till he's 2 now. Yields, flexes, leads, steps through, switches eyes, and is a happy, trusting, friendly guy.
BUT Joe noticed today that he has learned 'tasks' - he's doing what he remembers rather than following the human. So leading was pretty good and I led him all over the field. He also stopped when I stopped. HUrrah. But the next step was him taking a step back when I take a step back - without needing the flag. He does it great with the flag because the flag is the cue. Whereas my stepping back should be the cue. So Joe got him stopping nicely and taking a step back - without the flag - but then he forgot about forward and got a bit stuck.
So I need to mix it up more and be very clear to cue with my body first and only then add in another cue to reinfoce. The physical aid is the back up not the main cue.
He's so cute. Here he is with his mini-me - but he is now going to youngstock livery. He adores his 'Uncle' but the uncle is 30 - he needs babies to play with I think.
