I noticed a few people mentioned watching or reading helpful training techniques on the Internet. Because I'm doing nothing useful thanks to the snow  I thought I'd put my time to good use. I never seem to find anything and you tube searches seem to result in "my showjumping hamster" and other unhelpful videos so I thought it would be good to see any riders/trainers that have good blogs, videos etc. I would also really like to look at sports psychology as mentioned in the other thread.

So anyone want to share sites that they've found particularly helpful? #HHOtaking2013competitionsbystorm :D

Things like HorseJunkiesUnited, and EventingNation are really good websites with lots on them. I also like looking at other forums- I lurk on Chronicle of the Horse, and the articles on there are interesting too. I find COTH horse interesting because the thing with 'OTTBs' is bigger over there it seems and there's lots of discussion beyond "ex-racers are worthless" which interests me because my sister rides 3!

In terms of videos, I just youtube virtually anyone as does my sister. So we'll sit and watch footage of Burghley 2005 and discuss it, then the totallrecall PC Champs footage and chat about how different riders rode. Or pretty much anyone who has their own youtube channel really...

Look for the USEA convention channel. It is amazing and frankly
puts BEs pathetic attempts at an AGM to shame! They have brilliant speakers from around the world for 2 days, incorporate the AGM and video the lot and put it online free. Quite why BE don't look into aligning the International Eventing Forum with their AGM date is baffling to me.

And suddenly I am ridiculously grateful than my last exam is tomorrow, because that is a serious distraction :D

I can definitely say I've looked for very much the same sort of thing...so much so in fact that I've just started a site that it attempting to act as a bit of a hub for blogs, tips and eventing resources - Outside the Horsebox http://outsidethehorsebox.com.

It's got blogs from 12 different riders - 4-star through amateur and UK + US. (several HHO regulars have kindly contributed! :)), and a tips section which at the moment I'm working on getting more material for. There are also youtube playlists, mostly XC at the moment.

I'm working on finding a someone to write about sports psychology - as I would like to know more myself! But if anyone has other topics they might like to read about feel free to suggest as I will be working on recruiting authors. :)
