folliculitis in horses

Has anyone had dealings with this?

My mare has got it terrible down one side or at least that is what the vet thinks at the moment?

Yes I had a mare that got it under the back of the saddle - a little bit of pus at the bottom of every hair follicle. I used hibiscrub and let it dry without washing it off, after every time I rode and it was fine after a couple of weeks.
