We mainly seem to all want to get fitter. Perhaps we need an HHO fit club where we report what we have or haven't done and shame those of us (me) who are slacking. Am off now to eat a cake and put my feet up.

great start, nice idea!
i'm sitting here diligently doing leg extension exercises as ordered by physio, with double ankle weights on my injured knee, and avoiding going and eating biscuits, chocs and xmas leftovers, so i hope i get a flipping gold star so far...!

i'm sat eating a selection box

despite the fact that i got the wii fit out yesterday and it was very mean to me

i really need to get fit and less fat....this has all happened this year because haven't been eventing, have just been eating clearly
confused.gif
not helping that i can't ride at the moment coz of the weather...i can't even go running as will probably go arse over tit on the ice!

i think a HHO club is a good idea...perhaps we need a sticky note or something to chart out fitness work and weightloss?!

Ooooh do I get lots of gold points for having spent the last month in NZ mustering sheep on foot off mountains which involved walking about 10-15 kms every other day and wrestling sheep in between the hikes?

It does sound like a good idea! Maybe we could convince HHO Admin to make it a 'fixed post' up the top so that it would be easy to find..

Felicity_09, you sound as fit as a racing whippet, i think you might not meet our "trying to get over being a couch potato" criteria...!
making it a Sticky is a good idea.
it'll all have to be done on trust obv, won't be like WeightWatchers with the public humiliation etc. although, what could be more humiliating than doing it on here where thousands of strangers can see how much i weigh?!
i'm 5'10" and recovering from injury, in my (pathetic!) defence...!

lol....i weigh WAY too much (pardon the pun)- according to the WII fit i'm actually obese....
blush.gif
i blame it on having such a low centre of gravity

(i'm 5ft 1)- this has inspired me already, i have put down the selection box!
grin.gif
what do we need to do? PM admin to make us a sticky note?

Unfortunalty at the moment 'a racing whippet' is a rather apt description, I think I will join the club but with the slightly reverse aim of gaining some weight while maintaing my fitness =)

swapsies?

i have 2 whippets, i wish i looked like them

diggerbez, is the Wii Fit thingy really good? I want to try one, not sure whether i'd use it though! i'd love to do Pilates, etc etc.
Felicity, i am SO envious. i have lots of top tips on how to gain weight, but of course it is my Special Patented Diet so you have to pay me £££s first...!

its quite good fun- i wouldn't say particularly strenuous but the yoga and muscle stuff is quite good and the balance games are really good fun. i actually just ordered the wii fit plus, its supposed to be much better and apparantly you can have a more strenuous workout without having to stop/start- hmmm we'll see! i find it hard because have done some really serious training in the past so normal videos and stuff just don't feel hard enough for me...but i struggle to fit the gym in with 2x dogs 2x horses and teaching full time
shocked.gif
so i figure half an hour at home is better than nothing?! plus it acts like a set of scales so if nothing else charts that!

i have PM'd admin to ask for a 'HHO FIT CLUB' sticky putting up at the top of CR....
smile.gif

I tend todo quite well, obviously ride 2 everyday and have to walk quite a way to put them all out and get them in and muck2 out a day plus try and run about 4miles twice a week
smile.gif
I dont have time for anything else with work in between!
grin.gif

I'll join

I need to do sit ups and something to make my thighs stronger...any ideas guys? Thankfully Wii fit says my weight is ideal but that I am *and I quote* 'Very weak for my age'.

Ok here's my take on it I used my friends in Nov I was BMI of 22 which is 'ideal' and had a Wii fit age of 26 (same as my actual age) 2 weeks later I used another friends and it told me I had a Wii fit age of 31!!!!!!!!!!
blush.gif
and my BMI had gone up a point too!!!!! I don't think it can be an accurate judge really if yoou want to get fit but I would say that the balance games on there I think look good and like they coould help with riding. According to the Wii my balance was almost perfect 49% on one leg and 51% on the other, but if I tryy it again in 2 weeks it will probubly tell me something completely different!

I like the idea of the HHO FIT CLUB I went running for 56mins today (shamed into action by the Wii!!!!) so feel very smug so smug I have just eaten a HUGE portion of toffee roulard! hahahahah

Thanks for asking that! Dark_Knight and I were discussing fitness last night. The best idea we came up with was the wii fit plus, cheaper than a gym that we will never go to and all the family will be able to use it, liked the balance aspect of it too........wanders off to do some internet shopping.......
