Follow up.... she couldn't be in foal pictures what do u think?.

Ok, so following my earlier thread:

as promised I went to the yard and took some pics of ebony, here she is 'normally', sorry I can't find a picture of her that isn't ridden

what do you think, she would be about 9 months now, I worked it out and 45 weeks since she went back to him would be September 14th?

not for about 3 or four weeks, because I am unsure, when she started to 'expand' rapidly, I didn't want to get on till I was sure, she now needs her feet trimmed, this is happening on fresh air.

The track has a max of 1/2 an acre of grass on it, ben gets fed and put in the middle to keep his weight on since he is growing, there are 2 horses on 1/2 an acre, she is 15.1, he is 15.2, she as lived in 2-3 acre fields, with far richer pickings than she has here and been out of work and not looked like this, she is tb x and not one to pack weight on without a load of rich grazing.

In addition, being on a track means she is constantly walking, she never stops moving for long, and as such is getting quite a lot of exercise, far more than any typical horse that is out of work, infact probably the same as a horse in light work, (a few gentle walk/trot hacks a week)

If she is in foal you need to stand her square and look at her from behind, they very rarely ever carry a foal evenly and one side will be flatter than the other.

Get the vet out and have her PD'd.
 
She looks very different to her ridden photo.
I would get a vet to check, it does look rather possible that she could be:eek:
It would be better to know either way .

Yes, well I tried to get her, but made a big faux pas by trying to take her photo in the grass paddock, I could not get near her! she thought it was christmas! She is coming in tomorrow, I will be looking a lot more closely, doing the water test on her, umming and ahhhing all day and then will probably still feel none the wiser and give the vet a call
 
Why not get the vet to have a check - it will take just a couple of minutes as if she is well in foal the vet will be able to feel the foal easily with a rectal exam.

She does certainly look as if she could be - but if she is on a high fibre diet she could just have a hay belly.
