Following on from "am i too big..." posts... weight loss - the IPD.

I was 15 1/2 stone from the weight I gained from having my son. It just wouldn't shift and my back problems stopped from exercising (my doc actually told me STOP jogging as it was doing me more harm than good!). I'm tall- 5'9" and I looked big but didn't look obese but I couldn't ride Sen as she can only carry up to 13 stone.

Then Paul McKenna came into my life!!! It was when he was on Sky One, January 2006- Paul McKenna Will Make You Thin. I swear, the day after I watched the first program, the weight started dropping off!! I'm now leveled off at 11 1/2- 12 stone depending on what time of the month it is and what time of the year it is (Christmas always makes me fat) but it's a weight my body is happy with and I look good in! I'll never be 8 stone as I naturally have boob and hip (LOL, I was a 36C at the age of 10) but at least I can buy normal size breeches and don't get called "fat slag" by passing cars anymore!!

You can buy his book but all the main things are on the Sky website anyways:

I can still eat what I want but it's just rethinking how you view food.

It sends your body into a state of ketosis, basically it starts eating itself.

This worries me. Ketosis is a dangerous state for your body to be in.

really like i said there are as many arguements to say its safe as to say its not... I believe its really not, and definately less risky than being overweight!!

Tis true, one woman on the forum has lost 7 stone!

zigzag, tbh it's not as simple as what you are/aren't allowed to eat, if you read the book there's a lot of other essential stuff about WHY we overeat, learning to cope with it, etc etc. it works, so it's worth a few quid imho.
Donkeymad, ketosis is not a dangerous state for the body to be in, unless you are a type 1 diabetic. there is a lot of very good info on the web about this.
i WANT my body burning its fat, there's enough of it, and i want rid! i'm not giving it enough carbs, i'm giving it plenty of healthy greens, proteins, and fat, and it is now burning fat. i feel great, i am not craving sugary rubbish any more, and i am steadily losing weight. it doesn't get better than that tbh.

pig2twig.co.uk is the forum. lexiehb and i are on it quite a lot.
it's very friendly, positive and supportive. see you over there!
only 1 thing, wait for the book, and start after you've read it, don't try to glean all the info off the website, it's just not there...
they even advise you to have a carbo-binge the day before you start, tho, so enjoy the chocs...
