Just in case anyone hasn't been following the "Who's got most snow?" contest, here's my entry
smile.gif
As stated on her thread, I apologise for OH standing in the way when I was trying to take a shot of the road, but you can see the depth of the snow on either side of the snow-ploughed section

Luckily, whoever it was had the sense not to plough a route out of the village, but only between our house and pub, about 200m
laugh.gif
So all snowed in... Ponies thought it was great fun, btw, and rolled like mad and cantered round having a bucking competition, so belying what I said yesterday about being sensible if they went out every day
crazy.gif
Enjoy...

LOL I have chickened out of another 12 mile round trip on the bike this evening!

Smidgen doesn't look totally impressed by the snow...I keep getting told off by the cat who clearly thinks I have done this simply to annoy him.

You do have lot's, that's just a smidgen more than we have i'd say but not by much. Love the look on your dogs face!!!

I heard a rumour you were headed down to my neck of the woods this weekend? You'll need to do a super thaw dance between now and then me thinks!!!

ISZ and S_C Smidgin has a "You told me we were going on a walk (ok, only to the pub) so why are we hanging about here??" look!

Mandymoo - we sure do, saves agonising over whether we can ride
tongue.gif

waterborn - thank heavens for that, the b*stards
mad.gif

A_R what's it like down your way? Am really hoping to avoid it if I can

I had to steal inlaws 4x4 to get to the yard and even then i got stuck on the drive. There are big drifts in the fields and for first time in years and years we cant turn out the horses as its so deep on tracks to field. I'm not happy.

Not all of sussex is quite as bad - where are you headed exactly? Oh and there is a major power cut covering a large part of the area as a main power line is down!!

I seriously hate winter.

Thats the village my yard is in.

At the school???? Def no indoor and i think the outdoor freezes easily too.

However, if it thaws and you do go i might stop in and say hello as i'll literally drive right past you. Can also recommend a very good pub for food. Today i dont think you'd get a lorry up the road to the school tbh.

I shall be twiddling my thumbs and looking for someone to play with so PLEASE come and be my friend if it goes ahead! I'll let you know, they are supposed to be letting us know tomorrow pm.

OK OK I think you win the snow contest
smile.gif
The horses look to be loving it although I think your dog may have just been grinning and bearing it he has a priceless expression on his cheeky face
smile.gif

Having missed work and spent my day trudging about fields with hay, mucking out twice as much, and getting wet and cold I have decided that snow is nice but I've had enough now so if it could just be packed up tonight and clear by 6am tomorrow that would be great
smile.gif

Just by comparison, what looks like fluffy snow as it floats past my window is turning to genuine 100 per cent East London Ick as it hits the floor, barely settling....
mad.gif
I'm almost envious of those with "Real Snow" (TM). Almost....
smirk.gif

TD - I hope you have wifi in your local, it would have been an error to leave the pub surely?!

Here's my snow...

We went for a wander on the neds this morning around the headlands. The horses loved it, we even had a canter! Felt very smug as we could see the main road, we rode past lots of abandoned cars and cold people
grin.gif
Although we did go out and offer cups of tea and pushes to people that wanted them (pushing stuck cars, not people over BTW!)
grin.gif

Oo er, K, you're well on the way to beating us snow-wise! Like your snowman too
smile.gif
The village children collectively made one christened "Big Boobied Bertha" which is rather too rude to photograph
shocked.gif

love the flying spaniel, was about to ask where you bought a purple one from then clicked on and twigged the lead rope!
smile.gif
Love the snowman and his friend too, very restrained and grownup of you not to put a carrot in a rude spot!

Aren't most of us? Did you see I took your name in vain on the Hartpoury thread, btw?

Just spotted it, although I think most of the information has been covered already... rugby boys and condoms, I have no more advice to give!

It is indeed, I've just been out there again

Hence we didnt turn out today

ETA - someone tried to get to the yard in a 4x4 this morning and failed, and at least 2 people got stuck in the snow when they came up this afternoon
grin.gif
All OK now though
smile.gif

We are bracing ourselves for more snow tonight and tomorrow. I can't believe there is anymore left in the world to fall!! Measured 17" outside my back door this morning. Had to tunnel my way out to get to the stables then had to dig my way into the feed shed and into the actual stables.

Noodlejaffa how do you keep your rugs so clean

I have a blue tartan Rhino like that for Bob, but it never looks that colour as it is always covered in mud

I too took loads of pics when I got to yard at 7.30 this morning! Just not uploaded any yet. I only just made it up the hill to Tredunnock, and had borrowed my dads 4x4. Couldn't believe how much we'd had, was sooo pretty though... and then I went and made mucky wheelbarrow marks all the way through it
