.... was just wondering how people felt about a crowing cockeral and whether you would be bothered by it?
We live in the country and have 4 close neighbours and 3 other houses about 400 metres away, and we all live on a fairly busy road.
The cockeral is kept in the coop until 7.30am at which point he comes out and will crow for about 10 mins and will then do a few crows during the day usually just rounding his girls up etc. The coop is kept back from the houses about 100m and you can just about hear him when he is in the coop crowing if our windows are open. All the other houses are no nearer and most are considerably further away from the coop / noise than we are.
I am really worried about whether he would be classed as a nuisance. I have spoken to 6 out of the 7 houses and they have either said they cant hear him paricularly or that they actually like it (its part of the countryside). The other neighbour (and one of the closest!)we have been having ongoing feud with as he keeps 9 dogs in kennels at the bottom of his garden, about 10m from ours and he walks them twice a day once abpout 6am and then again between 5 - 8pm. They bark at every noise from our garden, have chased the chickens on our property and do wake us up EVERY morning.
Would you think that we have a bit of a cheek complaining about his dogs barking unreasonably when we have a cockeral?
