What do you think is typical about you and the type of dog you own....or not?
I'll start. I have rotties and a rr. I am not a chav nor am I a thug, I don't think!! My dogs are not a status symbol but they do protect the property. We live in a rural area and have a smallholding with horses. They ae NOT guard dogs, but pets with attitude! None of them have spiked collars nor are they called Fang or Brutus or anything similar.
Your turn.

I have a mutt of a terrier.

Yes I have worn a flat cap. I have used baler twine as a lead. Terrier does have numerous scars and missing tips of ears from scraps with other terriers or critters down holes

and have used the phrase "gerrown it" and other variations.

I don't however carry a ferret, a trap and a shovel everywhere with me.

We have vizslak (and a cocker in a couple of weeks

) My hair always seems to look like the dogs slept in it and I wear my deck shoes and gilet with EVERYTHING

As posted on Splotchy's -

"In the spirit of stereotypes - I'll be the short, pale, spotty foulmouthed one wearing a filthy bodywarmer with some strange German italics on it, muddy jeans and hiking boots, short greasy hair wodged under a baseball cap and banging on about "bloodlines" and "drive" "

Seriously, my best mate who shows another breed met me at a champ show and started laughing her head off at my "uniform"
We are the black sheep of the dog showing fraternity.

Also, nearly ALL the 'working' people wear at least one item of camo combat wear

Apart from Christmas Bee and CaveCanem's fabulous descriptions I dont really know what a typical greyhound owner looks like

But they are slim, elegant, attractive and beautifully toned..... and I'm not

I wear my country boots at all times - to the office and everything, as you never know when you might have to climb into a hedge to remove a stuck spaniel... I have also been known to forget to take my whistle off ater walks and wander around inappropriate locations with it, like the supermarket, or the office
grin.gif
When it rains I can also be spotted in one of those bushmans hats and my long riding coat
blush.gif

And my car is basically a kennel on wheels

I'm disappointed, I thought terrier owners got special handbags with folding shovels in little pockets, like some bags you get with free folding umbrellas. **sighs** Another illusion cruelly shattered

I'm not sure what stereotypes are associated with labs - his lead is my horse's old leadrope tho (it didn't match her headcollar well enough

Green wellies, darn it!

At least tell me you have a Land Rover. Or a stick with an antler handle.

I described myself to a fellow hho;er as the frazzled looking horsey looking women being walked by a GSD , Sheltie x and JRT making lots of noise oh I may sometimes have the Sheltie in a lime green pet stroller...... What she is old

Actually, think I lean more to the Lab side, I'm VERY laid back

I have a Boston terrier, and don't think that there is a typical BT owner. Most owners in the city tend to be people who like small dogs in a big dog's body, and loathe the typical small dog that wears bows in its hair. I would say that Boston owners are on the energetic, sociable side, but they don't dress in a certain way.

Outside of the city I've seen Bostons in pick-up trucks, usually in the company of larger dogs, and lots of Americans prize them because they are one of the few all-American breeds.
