for those of you that intend to keep your horsie for ever and ever, what would you do if an eccentric old millionaire offered a massive ammount of money for him? literally in 6 figures.. racehorse sort of price...

i probably wouldn't sell my boy

silly, i know, and we're not rich... but he's a one in a million!

hhmmmmm thinking along the lines of beau2005's reply, oh god something awful is going to happen now to my boy cos i dared to even think that thought for a minisecond.

I would contact the mental health authorities as the eccentric millionaire would clearly need some attention.

LOL!!! It would have to be a hell of a lot, but I would sell and feel terribly bad about it!

My old YO was told to 'name your price' for her stallion, and she refused.

they'd have to be mad, and I'd never leave my horses in the hands of a mad person

no matter what money was offered, I still don't think I could part with either of them!

Still wouldn't sell and would be inclined to agree with RLD ....

certainly would never sell. not for any money, and not even if i was in dire straits; somehow, id find a way to keep her! this was proven 2 years after we got her; we paid £3000 for her as a 5 year old, and at a show when she was 7, we were offered £12000...now at the time, mum had just split from my dad, and we'd lost our house and lots that went with it...so this £9000 profit could have gone a long way. but it never even crossed our minds to do it; Ellie is a part of the family, in every way!

That's a difficult one hmm.... although we have been offereed £5,000 for my mums horse by this man who's the son of a hunt master in Ireland, but there's no way we'd ever sell tinker, not sure about boomer though ...

No way!
It took me a long time to find a horse like Jerry - I would never sell him.
What would I do with the money anyway? I'd have to use it to make me happier, buy a bigger house, a newer car?
I'd rather have Jerry and carry on being poor, struggling to make ends meet, than any of those things.

no way i will never sell her i have been offered an open cheque for her in the past she is werth more in my hart then all the money in the world and i dont think she will go for anyone else

Probably wouldn't sell - have been offered £10,000 for him and not taken it! (He cost us £950 so it was tempting!

This is really tough, I might be tempted as long as I knew they'd be looked after and have a home for life, as a six figure amount of money would really be a life changing amount, but anything less than that then I'd say no

There is really only one of my horses that I would NEVER EVER give up ownership of.....however I would sell a 50% share of her. A million would be fine by me and I would draw up a contract that she had to remain on my farm for the rest of her life.

Oops! I read the "figures" wrong - no I wouldn't sell any part of her for only hundreds of thousands and then me only getting half of that figure - the sale price would have to be at least 2 million I'm afraid.
