This summer four teenagers were killed by a hit and run drunk 18 year old Rom. He was tried and sentenced to SIX years for it but will NOT spend any of this time in prison

.Instead he has been sentenced to house arrest in an hotel, all paid by the tax payers of course! He has a fridge which is being kept stocked up with food and drink, a computer, hifi and tv.He has his own private bathroom and terrace to sit on when the sun shines. He is now studying for a degree, is writing his autobiography (which has already been taken on by a publisher) and he has had to hire himself a PR manager.

We go from one extreme to the other now, a guy was sentenced to 2 years (he is in prison now) for stealing 2 batteries from a supermarket. Both stories were on the lunch time news today. What a sick bloody world we live in

PS, seeing as how murder is almost a non crime here, I know what Id do if I were one of the parents of the 4 teenagers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that perhaps we are close to the same age...or you are just very wise at a young one. It seems day after day we are just bombarded with the worst injustices in the world and just expected to keep quiet about it.
Maybe that's why I try to stick to the horses and their issues. I am a news junkie. With a boy flying jets in Iraq you have to be...or go completely mad. But it seems worse by the day. And as we approach Halloween (which I know isn't big in this country YET, but getting there ) you wait, animals will suffer, not just from the fireworks, but from maiming etc.
You know how it is, when America catches a cold the UK sneezes. WEll it's been happening there for years. Despite being one of my favorite holidays, once again I will stay home to protect my animals...just like I have for at least the past 30 years. Somehow hoped it would be different over here, but it isn't.
Here we go again, what responsibility does it teach anyone if you reward them for bad behavior? Does one have a horse stop out at a jump when he feels like it and you just say here horsy, have a sugar lump? No. Because if you do, he'll just stop jumping all together. Unless he's hurt, or something is very wrong, rewarding that behavior will be asking for it to be repeated.

In our local news yesterday, it mentioned that muslim inmates were served ham sandwiches during Ramadam and are now trying to sue the prison for £2m for a breach of their human rights.........

Can anyone remember the 'Monty Python' theme tune?
Heres another wee Italian story. A funeral agency have been taken to court by 15 bereaved families. They paid a small fortune for the funeral service etc and the cremation of their father or whatever. They all rec'd the urn containing the ashes and laid them to rest in the local cemetery as is the law here in Italy.They all went to pray, lay flowers etc as one does. Three years later all 15 families rec'd a letter from the town hall asking them to remove the coffins containing the earthly remains of their father , brother or whoever from the municipal cold storage or else the local authorities would do so and then present the bill!

The funeral agency hadnt bothered to cremate said departed, put the cash in their pocket/s and filled the urns with SAND

. There is an inquest going on at the mo but probably will die a death and nothing more will be said (pardon the pun).

they had every right NOT to EAT the sandwich..or was is force fed to them? Anything to stir up and cash in imo. As my very wise and old Gran said (as she was dying)...."Thank God Im leaving this world and not coming into it". I reckon she knew what she was on about

think its time we had a "revolt" in this country, I am so sick of stuff like this and whilst noone agrees with it, it still carries on, something really needs to be done to shake up the powers that be...grrr, bad day at work too, can you tell?!
 
There was a programme on in the UK not so long ago, where a similar thing had happened to many people.

Justice is a bloody joke here. I am intelligent, speak fluent English (okay to you with an accent, but what the heck) and by law I cannot work here.
But the muslims in jail, many of whom do not speak a word of English are treated better than I am
As I've said, I WANT to be Brit. Period. Always have wanted to be Brit. But shoot, if everyone else gets special prevledges but a person who speaks the language and WANTS to work, what is this world coming to?
