I took Herbs in the school on the lungeline again before riding him out this morning as so many people seemed to want to see a video of his antics :p
As soon as we entred the school he went down the cheeky little soandso.

Anyway please note before watching this video there is nothing wrong with this pony. It may look like colic but it's not. He's just far to clever for his own good and has decided he doesn't want to lunge anymore. For anyone who's worried I can assure you he is eating, drinking, pooing and acting compleatly normal. After I took this video I brushed the sand off and took him for a ride in the forest and he was an absolute star. :) So please don't worry about him.

I hope you enjoyed the vid in the spirit it is intended. :) x

That is one of the funniest things I have ever seen, you have to give him credit he is clever!
Just asked to join his group on FB 'cos he is special!

Is he a New Forest ? I can just see my sons pony doing that when he is a bit older and wiser

Thanks everyone glad you are all enjoying the video. :D

Oh my god, that is hilarious!! That is the funniest protests I've ever seen against lunging!! :p

That is one clever pony you have!! What a cheeky little fella - wouldnt life be boring if they were all the same!!! ;)

I suppose when they dont like something, they just dont like it! Good man Herbie!!!! :p:D

A friend had a mini shetland who used to stage lie down strikes :D She would lie down if she didn't want to walk in the direction she was taken, she would lie down if she didn't want her feet trimming (that one was got round by the farrier trimming with the pony on her back!) In fact anything she didn't want to do she learnt that if she did the 'lie in' there was little anyone could do! :D :D :D

We used to have a pony in the school that would sit down with a child on top when they had enough, then , to rub salt into the wound, if the instructor went towards him to get him up he would run at the instructor and try and kick them! Little sod!

LOL!! That really is playing dead :D

Must be a right pain though, but could throw up some interesting practical jokes - asking the newbie on the yard to give him a quick lunge (with you watching) - just imagine the expression! :p

Really funny vid!

Herbie is now a trick pony, his aid for lying down being a lunge line. You can't get more natural trick training than that, he came up with the idea himself!

Bless him, he is a funny little soul :)

only_me  I would never do something as crule as that ;)

team barney LOL :D He is a funny little soul indeed. I always now have the option to sell him to the circus if he doesn't behave himself ;) :p :D
