Both my boys did me proud today. :D

My sharer took Jerry into the 55cm 'Nursery Novice' class and they won it!

Beau and I did the 80cm 'Open Intermediate' class and we survived. :D
We had a bit of a moment in the warm-up - he took a flyer and I ended up holding my reins by the buckle as we went over the fence. I stayed on though and he popped it nicely the second time.

So in we went. I was surprisingly calm considering. :p
1-3 were nice and relaxed. I had to push on a bit to make the two stride distance between 4a and b but we made it and he came back when I asked him to. Apparently we got to (!) extra strides between 7 and 8 - amazing consider he's 17.2 and rather long in the body. :p
I had to kick on again to get the to strides between 10a and b so the dogleg to 11 was a bit hairy but Beau was awesome and he just locked on to it. :D

We went clear! That was my aim for today - the 6th place was a nice bonus. :D

So thank you to everyone who told me to just go for it. :)

And hello to asommerville, who I spotted on her youngster in the warm-up. *waves* I was going to come and say hello but you were busy discussing what you were going to do next and I didn't want to interrupt.

Before I forget. Here's Beau with his rosette.

There is a video but it's on a friend's phone (my camera died after the second fence). I'll post it once she sends it to me.

Thanks for reading. :)

Hello *waves* well done you!!!!

I saw your sharer, she rides that big horse beautifully!

I forgot how to ride and poor wee ginger turned into a very green wobbly baby.....given me lots to work on anyway!!

Well done again :)

You were very persistant and you got your ginger over it to end on a good note. :)
The first jump was particularly encouraging.

Sorry, I had to laugh at your 'big' comment - Jerry's the smallest of my three at 16.1. :p
I was the one in the Aston Martin skip cap who was hanging over the side of the warm-up. :)

Terri

yup - some of it was asking a lot.
my idiot schools in that arena most of the time and even he had a look at the poles that were lying at the side

Anyways, well done. I shall probably see you at clear rounds now that we seem to have found our brave pants. :p
