Tazz came with hers, her show name was Tickled Pink..she's VERY ticklish! I use her second choice show name of Celtic Breeze, half of her sire's and half of her dam's names

Robbie was named after the legend that is ROBBIE WILLIAMS! His show name is 'Millinium Supreme'...2 Robbie W songs, plus he was born in 2000

Crystal 9Crystal Clear) I named after a 'fizy' pony I saw at PC camp, I always wanted a lively pony ...Crystal definatley turn out to be one! ...Cant do a thing with her!

Jack was called Orineokio (or something like that!) when he came over form Holland, we couldnt says it and he didnt know it so he was christened Jack (after Jack Daniels!) I borght Jack with money my grandad left me in his will, he always like the name Jack so it felt like a good choice

When I got Inca from the rescue they had named her Marigold - now she may look like a cow from some angles and certainly behaves like on at times but I couldn't call her marigold! Wanted a short name - but will of course answer to pretty much anything - dinner,hay,bedtime.....but never work!! Nixon is a shortening of his posh name - is a bit rubbish but he'd had it 11 years by the time I got him so hes stuck with it!

Flash got his name because the day i got him (as u all know i got him as a suprise and my auntie told me that the horse that was coming of the box was her new working hunter)

when we were all headin outa my grannys house to see the new horse my granny went 2 call my uncle (Fletch) and my sister (Ash) at the same time, and it come out FLASH LOL

OH named Daisy because she looks like a cow

She is legally called Kalla but thats a horrible name for an English horse

Dougal got his name coz the breeder loved Scotland.....Hence his show name is LORD of the Isles! yes these are both silly but he is a very lovely chap and can't help his name. I didnt like my name (Samara) until I turned 18...so been happy with it for 4 years now

Genie used to be Scooter, but her old owners thought it was a boys' name so changed it to 'Miss Congeniality', because they already had a Mr Kipling! Genie obviously is within 'Congeniality'.

One horse I had from a foal and I called him Solomon as he was wise beyond his years. His registered name was Worthy Opposition as he was by Utopian Opposition and came from Worth in Sommerset.

Joe soap got his name as we didnt know what to call him as a foal and farmer kept sayin joe soap and it stuck!
Freeman didnt have a name, we rescued him so he was a free man so called him freeman.
All others had names and I was told its bad luck to change them.

my first horse a rose grey roan was called bailey his first owner called him that because when he was born he was the colour of baileys cream!!
my second horse deception was because the first day i got on him he walked into the school i got legged up (he was looking all sweet) and he just bronced and bronced!!

and my dad said that was deceptive so we called him deception
my latest girlie came with the name serenity so thats what she has stayed with

one of my ponies is called whoops because i took 2 ponies to fayre oaks sale and was told i was not to buy anything anyway he came in to the ring looking very lovely and well my hand slipped a few times and whoops he came home with us ! the trouble is i keep calling him ( a rising 2year old colt now) whoopcey daisey poor little lad !

I only named two of mine, the others came with there names.

Lexie- No idea how we named her, we were going to call her april (month of birth) then Spring, then somwhow came up with lexie.

Doli- because shes a red/white coloured we chose an Navajo name and Doli means suprise (which is what she was) in Navajo!

Star was named such by her breeder because she was born on starry night

Her register named is relative to her sire, Augerman

Believe is/goes by her registered name

She had a stable name but I chose not to use it (thought it a little plain for her

) but we use various abbreviations (Be/Beans/Beanie) as her stable/nicknames

I can't wait till I get breeding, I have SOOOO many names ready and waiting!!

My horse got the name Batman because he was so fast as a youngster & his then owner would sing "Dinner, dinner, dinner, dinner, Batman!" as she raced along. (You have to sing the theme tune to Batman) anyway, the name stuck!

Tocha is an anagram of a few of the letters of her full name (LG La Chocolat) and I couldn't come up any chocolate related names I liked!

Stitch is named after the Lilo and Stitch character because of his big eyes. He really reminded me of Snuffleupagus (SP) from Sesame Street but I couldn't think of a name from that!
His registered name is Shadow Too, as he was originally called Shadow but I had lost my boy Shadow very recently before he arrived so I felt I had to change it but still wanted it kept somehow.
He's definitely more of a Stitch than a Shadow though!

J

Annie answers to almost anything but her favourite is Monster. She got this name because, well she's a monster. Still not entirely sure where Annie came from out of Heathviews Athena Skye! But then who am I to argue, I didn't get her til her terrible two's, my mate had to put up with her from 4 months.....and avoids her now if she can! Can't blame her really!

I sold my TB a few weeks ago - when he came to me he was called Newsy from racing name Newsround. From newsround he wasnamed Trevor (Trevor Mcdonald) although it was John Craven who did Newsround s was was going to name him that. Beck (his new mummy) now calls him Red which really suits him so Im happy with that!
My boy now Figo is 'Tymor Figo' Although when I first bought him i was told he was called Harley and then Jack.
My Warmblood came nameless which I choose Inca - very simple yet Pretty.

My girl came from a dealer and had no name. She was just off the boat from Ireland so I fancied an irish name. It came down to either Erin or Ashlene. I decided on Ashlene as she is grey and I thought I'd shorten it to Ash. However for some reason that never happened and she has stayed Ashlene, or sometimes Lene for short. (the Irish spelling is Aisling, but people don't realise it's pronounced Ashlene so it was easier to use the English spelling). I think its a nice name but some of my horsy friends didn't like it!
