Following on from my rug thread yesterday.

So thanks to Spyda I found a lovely Amigo 1200D for £60

However I've found a brand new Rhino Wug Plus on Preloved for £80.
I have the Rhino Wug Plus in heavyweight and I think it's fab but is 1000D classed as waterproof?

Same applies to the H/W aswell really, both rugs are 1000D but once again is this "fully waterproof"?

I'm a total Horseware buff but I hope they are fully waterproof for the price I pay for them!

Experiences on the Rhino/Wug range?

The arab on the left and the TB on the right are both wearing Rhino Wugs. Both horses were dry and warm even in all that snow. They withstood hail and driving rain too. They are very good rugs but I have found that the fabric used on the Rhinos does wear thin after a few years, where as the Nylon used on Rambos doesn't. Of course, Rambos are far more expensive, so you do get what you pay for. So far my Amigos haven't worn thin, but I haven't owned them long enough for a full comparison.

I hope mine holds up like that! Only need a good rug as mine are absolute wusses.

I've bought a few good condition second-hand Rambos off eBay and I have to say I'm impressed. I bought one which was 5 years old which had no repairs and I was still in good nick. Taken it to be washed and re-proofed and it came up like new. It's now 7 years old and still going strong with no rips or repairs despite being worn by a rug thrasher
