Having taken into account everyones opinion and after speaking to y/o / r/i I have decided to try and sell pony.

I know its not ideal and I would love to keep him forever but can't afford two ponies and even if I did just keep him he would be wasted doing nothing all day every day.

So now onto the horrible stuff, I have had one person who over heard us talking asking how much I want for him and have no idea what to say. He is 20 y/o perfect in everyway (but then I would say that) no health issues at all, and comes with all tack and rugs, so ball point figure? What do I say as starting point? Please feel free to PM me if this is not allowed on here.

Thanks

I didn't see your last thread, but a 20 y/o pony who is a true schoolmaster absolutely has a place to be sold, they can go for years and it would be a crying shame to stop another child getting enjoyment out of him!

Can you give more details of him please so I can price him?

We never used to sell our ridden fab oldies, but loan them, so that we could keep a quiet eye on them, my main old pony passed away aged 31 bless her, having taught many a child to ride and boy was she cherished :)

Hebe, I would love to keep him as I love him just like any other pet but I can't afford two ponies and one of my worries if I loan him out, what happens if come the winter if they decide to give him back and I then have two ponies I can't afford.

Weezy, what sort of thing do you need to know this is the first pony we have bought and then sold?

Thanks

13.2hh gelding, no breed in passport but we think arab x.

Loves to hack and jump, has jumped 3ft 4 from trot

Very safe, never kicked or bitten

Never had anything wrong with him at all.

Bombproof - literally, we are on an army base and his field is next to the explosives range.

What else?

Anyone venture an opinion on price with tack and rugs?

What did you pay for him, and how long ago did you buy him? I have one who sounds very similar, who if I were to sell, would be asking in the region of £1500, true beginner ponies are priceless!!

A pony like that is worth his weight in gold! I have no idea on price but if I needed a pony like that then I would happily pay a good price:)

I bought him a year and half ago for £1200, was thinking about £800 incl tack, sound about right for his age?

£1200 really? Just really want a nice little girl to love him,

I know this sounds awful but I'm sooo going to try not to get so attached to the next one.

I've explained to my dd that you can't keep the same pony forever when your a child as you grow and move on but it still sucks!

My friend paid £1200 for a slightly taller (14.1hh) 15yr old welsh x arab who has been there done that got the t shirt including absolutely everything (tack, rugs, mucking out tools, feed bins, storage box to put it all in)
