my horse when for his 'scan' and x ray on tuesday on what i thought was a ligament problem as he is fine flatworking but not sound jumping.
any way went back to pick him up later that afternoon to be told he has a fracture/bone chip in that back leg. so pretty much the worst news it could have been.
vets said i have been vey lucky as he has been turned out with the others running around and ridden since he came sound after his cut that the bone could have just shattered had he turned to sharply or put too much pressure on it.
vet said to to even think about riding him again until the autum (off goes trying to BE him this year) and he has to be turned out in a stable sized area on his own, and with a surface so it doesnt get muddy and he doesnt twist or anything!
hes not allowed to run around or do anything which mite put extra pressure on it (so he is in today due to the wind!) it is going to be a nightmare
but i am keep thinking how lucky i am i still have him. someone must have been watching over him!
wow that was long! xx
