I have been asked by Angua2 to post, as apparently following on from the young lady who was pulled from her horse, there has been another attack, somewhat more serious than before as the rider has been raped.

This took place on Fairmead, Chingford, Essex yesterday

Please dont hack out on your own for your own safety in this area. Take a mobile phone with you if you are hacking alone. More details to follow when Angua2 gets them, or gets to her computer

Thanks for the warning - my friend rides there.

I hope the rider is as well as can be expected and that the horse is ok.

As for the @rsehole who did it - lets hope he is caught quickly and at least suffers a great deal of excruciating pain - which he will do when he gets sent down........

For anyone who lives/rides down there please take care and ride in groups if you can and stay safe. Hi viz and mobile phones and stick to open space if possible and let people know where you are riding and report anyone suspiscious to the police - and if they are really odd get a piccy on your phone. Whoever it is obviously isn't scared of horses......

That's awful, the first girls was probably only lucky as her horse went for him though.

Sex offenders are seen as the scum of the earth in prisons (by other prisoners), so i hope he gets caught- he will have a very hard time of it.

Poor girl, probably never fully recover but hope she has everyone she needs around her to help her get back on her feet as quickly as possible.

I would like to repeat the advice on where to hack ie open spaces

Have been flashed at whilst hacking. narrow wooded track. not a great place for Essex folk to hack alone at present.

Obviously hacking alone is a lousy idea in these circumstances. If you don't have anyone to hack with, then badger OH/friend/sibling etc to walk/cycle with you.

I have just got in!.

The lastest is that this second report is a hoax..... a sick one at that.

According to the forest wardens who were out in force today they have not been informed of any second attack, but they do know where this second report stems from and the police and themselves are dealing with it.

My yard and some others are on lock down at the moment.

HOWEVER........ The initial assalent is still at large, so please please could everyone in the area try and hack out in company..... PLEASE STAY SAFE

Hiya everybody,

it is good to hear that they are both OK. It was so lucky that they got away

Fingers crossed that they manage to get the barsteward, but I fear that although the last is a hoax that it may well forwarn of what may yet happen.

We all should take appropriate precautions until this twisted individual is caught

My mum said thing like this used to happen all the time, i have been flashed in the past but nothing more, there are some sick people about.
The girl who was attacked always wears her i-pod when she rides out, has done for years and knows the forest very well, i can only think this is why she didnt hear or sense the scumbag approaching her, believe me she would have given the man a mouthfull if she knew he was there and came to close! Shes not exactly the quiet type! The bond her and her horse have is amazing! Shes had him for absoloutley years and both know the forest like the back of there hand!
I know what happened to her was bad but thing could have been alot worse for her if it wasnt for her horse, he potentually saved her life! The next person may not be so lucky if this discusting creature isnt caught!
