Following on from riding in the dark post!!!

i have never even thought of riding out in the dark, when the clocks go back i just go in the school with the floodlights but if i could easily get onto a lit street i probably would, the lanes around my yard are far too scary! and as for riding in the woods at night... i find it scary enough in the day!!!

omg i am actually shocked when i first read this i presumed people meant dusk...but no...i am completely in shock...i would never dream of riding on the roads in the dark...may i ask a stupid question...how do u see? i would be petrified doing it especially when i think of what you could step on!

i dont ride in the dark generally, and if i did i would not go on roads, i would go on bridle tracks etc if i wanted to

Haven't read the rest of the posts but did you know you can get a very high powered light that is used by mountain bike riders to go over rough terrain in total darkness, attach one to a horse plus your flashing lights and you will be as visable as a car.
I am always astonished at how powerful the light on my son's bike is, I swear it's as good as a car headlight. May cost you in batteries but definitely would solve the arguements about whether it's safe or not..
