Following on from "Shes Arrived"

Please find below a picture of our new mare, De Sote Deern. This picture was taken last night in her paddock, with the light fading I am afraid.

She arrived on Thursday evening after 6 days of being shuggled about. She was none the worse for it and has settled in very well. Last night I just went round to take a piccie of her to send back to Germany to let them know she arrived safely. Just as I went round she was getting up from having a roll, so was not looking her cleanest........

She is just a 3 year old and is by De Niro out of a State Premium mare by Hohenstein x Rubinstein.

Its now a big fingers crossed to hope that she is still in foal to Fidertanz, as I am always dubious when travelling mares in case they reabsorb.

She's lovely. at a recent auction at Vechta there were 7 really nice foals by Fidertanz. They were all very similar, he seems to stamp his stock.

kwym when we imported S16 last year i got her checked for the same reasons.

Aww thanks folks, she is very very sweet........loves getting the underneath of her chin rubbed..........

Will give you a laugh..........I read your post to my hubby just now and he says that if you are nice looking he will easily come down............or a Maalies van Baalen lookalike (this is his dressage pin up girl........LOL)

And he does has two brothers

.....an older one who is married now and a younger one who split from his horsey wife and now has a girlfriend (non horsey)......

Volatis also like the Hohenstein influence as well.......the mare comes from a good dam line as a whole, which is why we went with her.......
