I like being able to look at videos of good riders and being able to pick up new ideas from watching them, also having several high level riders who are happy to give training tips and advice. Also on this subject watching videos that inspire you - I can't remember the posters name but she has a beautifully schooled little coloured cob, Smartie perhaps?

I like being able to have a laugh with different people on here, some threads on here have been utterly priceless - Truth or Dare being the prime example.

Being able to get advice on so many different things - horsey and non.

So what d you like about HHO?

I like some of the posters a great deal.

I like some of the picture / video threads, especially in CR which can be very informative and sometimes inspirational.

I also presume I enjoy being in a permanent state of irritation otherwise I wouldn't open a lot of threads in here :o

Mostly the stuff everyone else seems not to like, the 'interesting' threads, the off topic stuff, the trolls :p

There are some amazingly knowledgeable folk on here, and some amazing riders, and some who are pure entertainment value :D

It's very rare that something on HHO doesn't make me laugh each time I log in :D

I like having a chat with some people, and that it has a large membership so there are always lots of new posts by the hour.

I like getting advice and getting different advice all in one place, saves googling and surfing through millions of pages.

I like hearing about other peoples experiences, I feel it adds to my horsey knowledge and experience.

I like piccies of other peoples neds and selfishly like it if people compliment mine :)

I love the update threads, the rescues, the camaraderie, the genuine Heartfelt support When the chips are down, the friendship, the multitude of different approaches and attitudes... Post a question about a problem and you will get 5 solutions that you already tried and 5 more you didn't. The inspiration. Hmmm, I'm sure there's more but my brains getting sleepy!

I love the fact that you can post a question/query or ask to help etc... and usually get good suggestions and answers. You gain from everyone knowledge, tips and experience. Sometimes you have to bring some common sense to the threads though as well!

I love that you can meet folks in real life then finding out that you already know them via their alter ego on HHO!

I love the support and help people get when things are seriously wrong with their horses.

You can laugh, can cry on HHO and fall in love with other folks horses!

Get useful information about rules and regs for competitions and also which venues/shows are worth going to.

So many things....... sure missing more! :D

Yay for insomniacs :D.

I like CR for all the knowledge and info you can get, plus the photos ;). I like the posters who come on here genuinley asking for help then come back to say its worked and they are back on track now.

But as JFTD said I must enjoy wanting to bash peoples heads together when I read some threads .

Now you mention insomniacs, this thread appears to have donned a nightcap and stripy pjs before hopping into bed :( zzzzz

I love the updates from people, love the humour, I actually think its funny when the off topic banter starts (I just hate it when a thread starts with a topic and ends up in a random argument).

I love Dave the Dolphin! and the stoned Polar bear!

I love the fact that I came on here last year having stopped 'keeping up to date' due to my mare being a field ornament and since being on here I have learnt LOADS! So thank you fellow HHO's especially the regulars!

I love lots of it...I wont keep rambling on!

Wow, erm, loads.

I like how busy it is. On here I feel like I'm having a live conversation, most forums are like, post a message check at the end of the day for any answers. Too slow.

Its sometimes very funny.

There's a vast expanse of opinionated people to spar with, I get bored very quickly on forums full of totally like minded people all congratulating one another on knowing everything and doing everything right.

A lot of the people and a lot of their horses, I suppose. Its nice to follow people's ongoing stories.

I like being able to search old threads, in vets mainly, when my horses find a new thing (new to them and me anyway) to go wrong with them.

ETA I also like that it isn't heavily moderated (OK, I'd prefer even less), but some forums really are plagued by heavy-handed, power crazy, biased, even bonkers moderators.

I go with that, there is always something interesting, unexpected or new info to be absorbed/////////or rejected :D

i love the way this forum shows off the fantastic knowledge and in depth horsey understanding of the british isles, never seen it anywhere else.

i laugh a lot at some of the names people have.

when it gets bitchy and shxtty it has me rolling on floor with laughter about how seriously some folk take themselves, BUT when people really reach out for help or need support or just a place to express what they are going through it brings out the best of british nature.

I have only been on about 18 months and only dip in and out with comments every now and then but I have a look everyday - the help and information that people give is invaluable - I am amazed how open people are with their opinions, their lives, their loves and hates and love the banter, some of it is hilarious - Love it!!

I like reading different approaches and ideas on here as it helps me consider new approaches.

I really appreciated the breeding section when I bred my first foal last year - there are some seriously knowledgable posters on that board.

I like seeing pictures of pretty horses:D

The thing I like the most about being on here is the fact that there is a mix and variety of people with varying degrees of knowledge and experience that you wouldn't quite get the chance to meet in real life. I have discovered things on here that I never knew which has prompted me to go away and research more, certainly chances to expand your own knowledge and it costs nothing!

Because I'm not on a yard and don't get out competing I enjoy reading horsey topics and keeping up to date with things in the horsey world.

I have posters whose advice I tend to respect and whose opinions I value.

I tend to have a good giggle at some of the wittier posters.

I can waste time on here instead of doing housework.

It is always a good feeling if you able to help or offer support even if virtual to someone who is struggling.

It sometimes teaches me that patience is a virtue when reading some irritating threads. :o

The fabulous people I have in my life because of it, who I wouldn't know if it didn't exist (and I'd still be sofa-less ;) ;p)

Loads of things. The number one thing is the wealth of knowledge on here and the way (the majority) of people are very keen to help and offer advice. There really are some lovely people on here. I think that if you are open minded enough, it gives you a very well rounded view of the horse world. I have changed some of my opinions since being on here, for the better I think.

This, I have been on a forum recently were posters with a high post count had the power to moderate and close down posts. As you can imagine this power was abused.

I do find this forum very entertaining at times.

Quite often it is easy to predict what person x will have to say on topic y. But every once in a while a person will completely take you by surprise. I like that.

I like threads were posters share their experiences on emotionally complex topics. It seems that people are more open about their experiences on a forum than they might be in real life. These threads can make for interesting and emotionally engaging reading.

You read my mind, thanks! :D

Loads of things for me too -
The amazingly wide-range of approaches/experiences/knowledge that you can just plug into - it really means you can look at something from a 360 degree view, rather just one's own usually biased stance! Have learnt so much on here and nice to know its always here as a back-up to real-life horsey mates/professionals. There has been many a time when I have been able to weigh something up properly and act accordingly, because of this.
It's a real laugh sometimes, especially when there are random rows, trolls and bizarreness.
Love seeing pix of what other people get up to with their horses and all that. Especially the brave types doing stuff I know I am not going to be attempting at my middle-aged stage of life! Plus the swanky horse-candy posts with posh set-ups...;)
It's great, I generally have a cruise through posts most days as a way of relaxing as much as anything else.
:D
