Well I went out and found one that I fell in love with.

Went with the gut feeling that this younster was right for me. Vetting went OK - although hadn't really been handled (leads and ties fine but thats about it).

However got him home on Tuesday and he is constantly resting his near hind leg. He is not visibly lame and happily walks, trots and canters but when standing still rests this leg.

He is thoroughbred by Bandmaster (16.2hh) out of a 16hh mare. He is roughly 14.2hh and very dainty/gangly. How tall do you think he'll get? (Dark bay in photos is a large 16.2 warmblood)

Here's some photos for anyone who's interested (not the best pics as they were taken from an unpredictable mobile!) :)

Looks a sweetie, does he have roan patches or is it just light reflection? If so very unusual. The pics aren't the greatest but he seems a nice boy, looks to have a good wide chest and some muscle starting to come through too, I like him :) Some youngsters look so slap sided as two year olds, he doesn't, he doesn't even look that gangly to me.

He might just be resting his leg out of relaxation, mine often stand with a back leg rested. It is unusual that he only does it with the one leg though, perhaps it is purely coincidental that you only see him resting the one?

Yes, he has a roan patch and on the other side is a white and a black spot! Will try ge better photos tomorrow with an actual camera!

He's not overally gangly - just quite leggy - but then again I'm used to my shortish legged warmblood! It may just be coincidental that I only sehim resting the one leg but it is literally always that leg when I see him standing still. He was in a big herd so maybe got kicked before I picked him up?

I'm hoping he'll get to 15.2hh or am I just being optimistic?

I knew a 2 year old who was about 13.2 (14hh if you were being incredibly optimistic!) made a good full up 16hh eventually (most people would have said he was 16.2) so I think your boy could make the 15.2hh you are after :)
