Following the naked post, how cold has it got to be for you to rug?

Goodness mine are spoilt!

2 welshies, out 24/7 at the mo with the odd day in but will be in at night soon. L/w if it goes below 10 deg and raining/windy (right on top of a hill with no shelter) When in at night they wont have stable rugs on until it gets to 1-2 deg then they will have fleeces on then will have their stable rugs (200g fill) with necks when it goes below into minus!

Turnout during the day will be l/ws or m/w depending on temp and rain/wind :)

I don't worry about the cold so much as cold and wet. My boy is naked at the moment. I will keep him out as long as possible then in at night. He doesn't like rugs and only had cooler rugs on at night last winter. He does look like a yak in winter and umless I clip him I think less is more, if that makes sense. Must add as now he is 19 yrs old will watch his weight closely.

Red's quite a fine welsh B, and also very pampered :D, so he's been in at night for a while now. Just a L/W on in the day if it looks rainy, if not, naked, and stable rug at night.
