Food for thought (excuse the pun)

bloomin heck that takes some getting your head around doesn't it?

Don't eat cow or pig, chicken is better, but only if its intensively reared (so stuff Jamie and Hugh) and free range milk products is a definate no no, and you must treat a cow like an F1 car not an animal.

Got it?

oh dear......just what the excuse the labour goverment need to destroy farming completely and build their sprawing estates to house imigrants and dole dossers......

Was talking about this today!

Congratulations rest of the world for realising that organic and free range foods, although seemingly good, are a waste of time and effort.

For example, a provider of organic pork sends it to germany for processing so it can have large amounts of high pressure exerted on it to artificially prolong the sell by date so it can sit on the back of a lorry for longer before you eat it.

SCRUMMY! And lovely for the environment too! Whatever was wrong with eating intensivly farmed pork slaughtered up the road and sold at the local butchers!!

Well said. I totally agree.
Apparantly the climate is now cooling - so can we have some of our taxes back please Gordon that we have been stung for under the disguise of a 'green tax'?
This government have got to stop using climate change as an excuse to do what it wants regardless of the effect it has on the British people.

Glad so many other people got as confused as me, take some getting your head around. At the end of the day farming is basically chosing the 'lesser evil' its just the opinions differ on what that is.

I'm a meat eater and always will be and like to think that what I eat had a relatively high standard of living before it made it to my plate, however when you are getting the green berating from every corner it seems you cannot win. Brain hurts now

IMO it's all caused because we are grossly overpopulated. Nothing we can do about it now, but that's the problem - whatever we do I think with so many people here is no avoiding major damage to our planet - doom gloom doom....

Why do vegetarians feel the need to shove their dietary choices down everyone else's throats?

"Vegetarian Society to take out adverts in the paper declaring that our carnivorous tastes are a "silent but deadly" assault on our climate"

Not only inaccurate, but smug and self righteous. UK farmers have suffered enough in the past ten years, with BSE and Foot & Mouth, without this kind of scaremongering tactic.

Please leave me to eat my steak in peace!
