Any help or suggestions please, is it possible to feed the same food to my 3 dogs I have a 7 year old GSD a 12 year old Sheltie x JRT and a 15 week JRT monster.

The older dogs eat the puppy food and the puppy eats the big dogs food.

At the moment they are fed on Tesco's own brand which seems to have helped keep the weight off the Sheltie x .

The JRT is not fussy at all infact which helps but she does get hyoer after she has eaten

They dont have wet food but I am thinking of introducing tuna for the oils for the oldies joints.

Am open to any advice or suggestions

Don't see why they shouldn't all eat the same! Henry has Skinners, which he loves - it is gluten-free and also VAT free as it is a working dog food

Mine are on Skinners duck and rice at the minute, which a lot of people recommend on here. Quite reasonably priced too.

Oily fish is good, tuna etc, a lot of people at my club swear by salmon oil.

I would consider putting them on a working dog food but to be honest I was worried that that might fizz them up or bulk them out. as they dont work just mooch with me .. Excuse my ignorance if I am completely wrong

My friend feeds hers on Scats working dog which seems to suit him.

Skinners won't bulk them up or fizz them up. It has a high oil and protein content but none of the cereals that used to bulk out so many other foods - it also means that you only need to give them relatively small amounts to get the same benefits.

As for your oldies you can always add a tin of sardines, pilchards, tuna etc to their bsicuits once or twice a week - mine particularly love anything in tomato sauce

. There again they both just love food............

I was a little bit worried that it might have that effect but Henry has been fine

It really suits him, he has always had a bit of a delicate stomach, and... well things have firmed up considerably and the atmoshpere is much less toxic since changing foods is all I'll say

He is most certainly not a working dog either

Careful when feeding fish oils, Cod Liver Oil is high in Vit A and D and other Fish based oils may deplete vit E, so you will need to feed extra.
Salmon Oil is good for skinny dogs as it is high in calories and fat, so if your dog is likely to put on excess weight you will need to cut down their food.

Otto is also fed Skinners Duck and Rice, as it's the only thing which doesn't cause his skin to flare up and his stomach to get extremely upset!

Thanks everyone I've had a look at Skinners and there is someone local to me that stocks it so I will give it go. Just a quick question should I keep the monster JRT puppy on puppy food for the moment ,

Well, I don't know if thinking has moved on (I'm sure it has!) but our old lab never had puppy food - he had the adult dry food he ate all his life, but as a puppy we soaked it.

Fully prepared to be shot down in flames though!

well she came with a bag of puppy food and I was going to wean her onto the big girls food slowly but she has done that herself and the big girls are on feasting puppy food
