As title says my field is old pasture muddy at gate but with all this rain my 2 year old looks foot sore any ideas picked feet out can't see anything he is ot 24/7

With all the wet, there are a lot of abscesses about according to my farrier, where hooves are softer, and infection can track into the foot. My foal abscessed, and never had one in a foal before :(

Phoned the farrier keeping an eye on him the farrier going to see two foals today with abcess he said he's never seen so many abcesses what with all this wet, thanks guys.

My 2yr old has just come off box rest for a sore foot. Vet said she had gravel in white line which led to an abscess. She s not amused since she s an out 247 girl but has managed remarkably well.

If he is just footy I should think it is just soft feet from all the wet. Mine has been a bit feely the last week or so. If it was an abcess surely they are very lame? Thankfully I have only ever had two to deal with but both times the horse was crippled.

Aww thank you Yes my farrier did say to get him out if he really lame I suppose they have to be really lame to get at the abcess !! but he isn't really lame just footy fingers crossed .
