I have a welsh sec d who has quite flat feet and is prone to corns, bruised soles etc and I am tring to decide whether to put him on a hoof supplement eg Biotin, or finding him something to strengthen his soles. He is shod every 5 weeks.
Thanks for any input.

The only reason I feed TopSpec balancer is for my TB horse's feet. I tried all the big named foot supplements and they did not work for me - even at double dosage - which is very expensive.

Now her feet grow and the hoof quality is good and she has thicker soles. The added benefit is that I have reduced the amount of hard feed she gets.

I have fed my horse biotin for the past year but I have also been using a product called Equicasts on him.
His feet were terrible, he is now just on the boitin but his feet are fantastic and although he still has little growth he has developed a very much thicker sole so I would say yes.

This is exactly my experience too - fantastic stuff!

My farrier was amazed at how rock-solid my horse's soles were after a few months of feeding Formula 4 Feet. We're now trying TopSpec (Lite) for one reason and another, but I've heard it is equally good for the feet.

I have had fantastic results with my terrible hoofed TB with Profeet, my farrier cant believe the diffence in horn quality, and they seem to grow much quicker too

Hi Stinkipinki! Unfortunately tried pro-feet and he won't touch it - must admit I thought it didn't smell very nice myself.
Am now vearing towards Top spec as was planning on putting him on a balancer over the spring anyhow.
Thanks again for recommendations.

Hi Sidney!!
yes i know what you mean re the smell of Profeet. My horse is mega fussy too, but i was so desperate to improve hoof quality i managed to get him to accept in the end by literally just adding one drop at a time, untill he was on the rec dose after 2 weeks. He now on the Profeet powder which has far less smell.
