I am using Forumla4Feet at the moment which is fine but wondered if there may be an alternative which is possibly cheaper?
Would just a biotin supplement be okay?
I have used Equimins Biotin with great success, where expensive ones have failed. Horses are different and what works for one may not work for another. Trial and error unfortunately.
I was using formula 4 feet for my TB and laminitic ID although have now changed to gold label high potency biotin at £12 a tub which lasts a month. Much cheaper although doesn't contain all the vits n mins that formula 4 feet does but I replace anyway and they're feet still look as good!
if you are feeding adequate vits and mins then just biotin (and I think zinc as needs this too to help it absorb or something). I feed Top Spec comprehensive and was told that feed F4F was waste of money as excess vits and mins).
I get mine from Pegasus health (their website is being updated at the moment though so cant point you there for more info) - big tub lasts ages and horses feet are in great condition - farrier recommended biotin to add to top spec as we are tring to get horses feet to grow quickly as possible (he has collapsed heels ) - working a treat so far
