Football - player's behaviour.

For years players having been verbally abusing referees and mostly getting away with appauling behaviour in general but suddenly they are complaining about a ref being rude to them. There is some irony in that I think !!!!!
 
Whilst I do not agree with racism in any way, shape or form, I am getting bored of listening to overpaid prima dona footballers jumping on the bandwagon and whinging about being called nasty names by all and sundry.
They spit, swear, throw tantrums and behave appallingly on many occasion.
 
Just think, all equestrians are tougher than them. Considering we get thrown into fences at 20mph etc etc, and we don't go complaining about it!

Quite agree with this. They need to man up. How does it go??? "Sticks and stones etc????
 
I hate Football Footballers and supporters with a passion I would like to see it Banned overpaid brain dead chavvy prima donners, look at the better discipline in RUGBY and the Supporters who can always happily rub shoulders together.
 
HairyOldCob, I couldnt agree more. Ive never liked the game but it is becoming more and more ridiculous, the way they carry on! "PrimaDonna" seems a very apt word to describe the majority.
 
I'm sure if they started to hand out hefty bans (or perhaps forcing them for forfeit games or get points penalties) for players using foul language, spitting, being abusive, showing unsportsmanlike behaviour etc etc etc then I'm sure their teams and the fans would soon put pressure on them to behave.

This shouldn't just be for players either, it should be for all team staff so managers too.

And then perhaps some penalties against teams for when supporters misbehave too and perhaps football might just start to become a little more civilised.

The behaviour they get away with is disgusting and a terrible example to all the small boys who idolise them.
 
The sad thing is many young kids look up to these "heroes" (I use the word heroes loosely) and copy their attitude!! These overpaid prima madonnas really need to man up and grow a set!!!! I hate footie and so does my hubby, most of them are a bunch of over paid thugs who get paid far too much money
 
I completely agree with what's being said. These footballers are creating bad role models for kids as they act atrociously not only on the pitch but off it as well, which is constantly in the papers. I come from a rugby background with my husband and kids playing all their lives and I think that footballers can learn a lot from the way they act on the pitch in the way they interact with the referees but also the way the conduct themselves off the pitch. Similarly with show jumping, rugby players also endure collisions from large bodies at some speed.
