Pony has been barefoot for ten months and has taken to it brilliantly not a day sore since the fronts came off. Anyway daughter did a 15 mile ride at the weekend and now he seems footsore. Had a good look at him today and he seems to be very tentative and a bit trippy on the gravel path, seems ok in the school. Farrier is out tomorrow for routine check but I was told that he will probably put front shoes on him as he hasn't much foot ( this was by someone today when checking him over). My farrier is very barefoot friendly and it was on his suggestion that we went barefoot last year and now I'm worried that I'm going to have to put shoes on him again, as he can be very difficult when it comes to shoeing and it's been such a relief not to have the worry when it comes to farrier time again. There's no heat or digital pulse that I can feel and so I'm just wondering if it was all to much doing the sponsored ride. He only has half a scoo of hi if lite twice a day, his out at night and he has hay when his in, I thought we were doing so well
