Perhaps one for the endurance folks- any recommendations of footwear that is safe to ride in but that you can also comfortably hop off and run alongside your horse in?

I am lacking in time so thinking rather than trying to fit a run and a ride in each day it would be handy if I could jog with the pony on the roadwork bits and then jump on when we get to the tracks to do his fast work. There must be companies that make suitable footwear for this sort of thing!

Trainers! Get caged stirrups (beware cheap imitations), I use caged flexi-ride, not pretty but very comfy and kind to your joints.

Not sure they're quite suitable if he plants a hoof on my foot unfortunately. Plus my feet get soaked when I go to get him from the field. That's what I currently use when I jog with him and I've found those to be the downsides. Thanks for the idea of cage stirrups though!

Ariat tellurides, designed for endurance riding and getting off and running your horse up the hills etc I have a pair (although I don't do endurance) and I love them for hacking and walking and everything!!

Tuffa do some endurance trainers, think they're on sale, not many left:

Woofwear scopes are fab walking/running boots which are also fab for riding, very supportive. I think they're half price on Equestrian Clearance currently.

Thanks guys! I did try some ariats on today that seemed nice (til the 190 price tag!) but they didn't have a name on them so I'm not sure what they were. Sounds like ariats are worth the money though? I'll have a google!
