I am bored. Am still at work, am dog tired after a hard week and fancy a bit of light heartedness. I suspect this one has been done to death in the past, but what the hell.

My cob is a typical cob, leg at each corner, hogged and with an attitude. He is as hard as nails and if he's coming through, you stand aside, or you get barged over (naughty boy I know). He is unfortunately the yard thug and is first off after the ladies, particulary when YO gets new posh eventers onto the yard. The laugh is they love him! Its so funny seeing this little 14.3hh cob, getting all amorous over the gate with a 17hh elegant warmblood eventer, and they love him as well - its like they love a bit of rough so to speak. He is not terribly affectionate, but loves a cuddle with mummy, but only in private, when nobody is looking. He is top in the pecking order of the herd and new liveries are usually warned about him.

We do have a laugh on our yard, compariing our horses to soap characters, and we've had a Jim Branning, Dot Cotton, Pauline Fowler etc. Oddly enough my horse gets compared to Phil Mitchell, When we had Mini TX's last pony, who was a another hard nut, and who used to team up with mine to terrorise the herd, they used to get called Phil and Grant.

Mini TX's mare is Janine Butcher, or whatever she is known as these days ......

Got me thinking, purely for a laugh, if your horses were soap stars, who would they be?

H = kirk from corrie (not always there but means well)
The beast was named after a corrie character ( trait of breeder) but I think she's more like Becky ( gobby, rough around the edges with an attitude but can be nice to the right people - normally those with polos)
My old girl is more of a eastenders Dot as things have to be done right and she's the type to look after you if your down

Mine isn't a soap character either, but I always say Pip is like Stacey Soloman (off of x-factor / Essex!). Because she is a bit thick, is a nice person and very very talented!

In my head she has the same voice and accent. And says "Oh-my-god" allot :D

Reggie is undeniably the nice but dim, good looking charmer who tries his hardest to make everyone happy- somewhat like Frank Spencer off Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em. He is such a genuinely lovely character who ends up getting into all sorts of random situations through bad luck.

My old boy would be Jerry off the Good Life. Terribly well spoken, and very upper class!

Um, I don't really watch soaps but Billy is a horse with a sense of humour - he likes playing with things and generally messing about - he has his own supply of lead ropes!!
So, um, he would be a comedy character?

Lol, I was just thinking about this earlier today!

Mine is an angel to be around generally, but a total drama queen at times. He has the attention span of a gnat with adhd, and a tongue in cheek, take-the-mick sense of humour that not everyone gets. He is the boss in the field!

I don't know about soap characters, but I'd say he's a curious cross between Russell Grant and Craig Revel Horwood :p

hmm.... not sure about soap characters but I'd say Handy was like Mark Sloan from Grey's anatomy, doesnt have much luck with the ladies, yet flirts like mad, gets himself into scraps and friends with everybody. Likes to show his good looks off too :)

not a soap character but my colored horse would be like keven off keven and perry ,he actually groans when where schooling sometimes he is so lazy when i first hacked him out as a 4yr old he used to groan so much i actually used to get off and walk  poor 16"3 middle weight having to carry my 9 and a half stone about bless him

the other one (little welshy) would be like bouncer from neighbours because he is so cheerful and will do anything for a "good boy" :D

mine would def be a ginger Bob Marley. He is so laid back and chilled but can have a bit of a wild side when he wants to...I can imagine Old Bob Marley could be a bit of party animal!

not a soap but nevertherless i think these fit them perfectly my clydesdale would be Dougal from Father Ted absolutely think as a plank but harmless and my shire would be Sean Connery as he's a looker, gentle and has a way with all the women who meet him (basically a tart) :D

My cob would be (not a soap as I dont watch them) Peter Kay. Sharp, cheeky, makes you laugh and gets away with murder.

Sisters section d is gladys from hi de hi.

haha good post TX! :) i don't watch soaps but i reckon my horse would be someone like Don Draper off mad men....good looking and capable of charming the pants off everyone....but actually a sly little shite on the side...getting stroppy and getting himself into trouble....but always managing to blag his way out of it in the end ;):D
