I usually threaten mine with the Horse and Hound when it gets serious :)
At least when you have your next good test it will feel extra special.

Glad it's not just me that this sort of thing happens too.

Reminds me of the first time (years ago) I took my ned to a combined training event. First time out for the pair of us and first time out for him since bringing him back from injury. Think he thought we were going hunting (that was what he was used for prior to me getting him).

I can still see the judges face as we cantered down the centre line and swerved at the last moment in front of her car bonnet. Caught glimpses of her shaking her head as we bombed round with me only just in control. Will try to find a photo and post up later :o

Never did try dressage again after that, which in a way was a shame as someone had obviously spent time schooling the boy well as he could do some very nice work, including half passes. :(
