After reading your thread, thought I would show you one of mine

Your boy is going to be a stunner.

I rescued Bonnie last August and it has taken since then to get her right. Havnt got a current piccy (will take one for you) but here she is on day one and day 2. On day 2, the vet got here just in time to save her. She was hooked up to a drip and we had to put hot water bottles between rugs. The vet said that Bonnie was the worst case of neglect she had seen that had survived.

She was on 5 small feeds per day and had major work done on her teeth - never having had them done in 18 years. At times she was too weak to stand and we had to hoist her up!

She is a pleasure to own, so gentle and giving. I am weaning her baby this weekend too which Im not altogether looking forward to.

Cant wait to see regular updates of your beautiful grey.
 
She is a Welsh Sec A and had been breeding on the mountain all her life. I have a feeling that strangles went through the herd. The breeder, who is very well known and respected, bought her and little boy wonder in, gave her 'cow cake' and barley and couldnt understand why she didnt improve over the weekend! She and baby were due to be shot on the Monday morning and go to kennels. I got there first

Good on you! What a shocking set of pictures, but, as you know, sadly an almost everyday sight on those mountains. Heartbreaking.

We had a tiny little white mare up behind PH that was just like Bonny, skin and bone and usually in foal, with a foal at foot, she'd stand and watch my lot eating in the field, I know I probably shouldn't have but I did feed her my haylage, she'd be down there everyday, she never put on weight but I hope I helped her through the winters.

thats heart breaking them pictures .. have curiosty got the better of me the other night, I clicked on a video that was on youtube and I wish i hadnt, it was of a horse slaughter yard .

To think them poor animals ..gah doesnt bare thinking about .
