My sister and I call our horses lemons!
This started as a bit of banter in the pub, quite a lot of our horsey friends have OHs who are keen fishermen, this leads to much competition as to which pastime is the best; fishing or horse riding (obviously there is no contest!)
The banter led to one of the fishermen informing us that horse's brains are the size of lemons! Although we know this is technically inaccurate, the horses became known in the pub as "lemonheads" for a while. This has been shortened to lemons!
The stables, yard and paddocks are known as "lemon land".
Anybody else got a daft, made up name, collective noun etc for their horses?
Just nipping out to check the lemons have hay, back shortly!
