You shamed me into going and taking some.

She's looking better and better I think, considering how decidedly average she's looked for the last 18 months.

She's two, out of a More Pokey (TB) mare.

Checking she's not left any:

Looks good! How big is she? Freddie is almost 2(on wednesday) and he is MUCH smaller. Little Tiger 2 I think rather than Tamarillo!

What a great surprise on a Sunday night, thank you for those; lovely to see them again.

She's grown very well and what bone she has. Funny how they have those camel stages (Kitty's now a gawky giraffe!) but it looks like she's come out the other side in great shape. You ought to send them to Louisa at the stud, she loves to get pic's of his youngsters.

Get Grace going all dappley; that hasn't taken her long, she was a solid steel grey when I last saw her!

Will stop moaning at you now - until next year when more updates will be required!

Oh and safe trip tomorrow.

She's a year older than Ron isn't she? That must be why.

I get her looking so well with just the normal levels of neglect that all our horses have to put up with.

I haven't measured her eventerlad, will worry about that nearer backing time.

You're welcome Pat, I'll send some to Louisa this week. Grace is 7 now (where did that time go?), all backed and ridden away as OH is threatening to sell her if she doesn't get in foal soon.

I have been away for a few days and have only just looked at the pics on this thread, hence the late post. I looked at it becuase a number of forum members (including a couple who nromally post quite regularly) drew my attention to it and wondered what I thought as they were worried that no-one had made the most obvious comment. I have to say that when I looked the pix I could understand their concern.

I don't want to throw a damper on all the oohs and aahs the filly is getting but I do think that for her long-term soundness as amtter of urgency you do need to get yoru farrier to shorten her toes and deepen her heels and if he won't do it becuase he thinks they are OK, get hold of another one that will. Actually she appears to have almost no heel at the moment :-( ) which is making her pasterns very slack all round. and this is creating a great deal of unnecessary stress and false angulation on the all the joints in her lower limbs.

I do not say this to upset you, but if you look at the OMT progeny on the other thread they all have good limbs and lower joints. Perhaps her dam had the same problem and she passed it on to her daughter? Is that possible?

As all of you know on this forum I never usually post on individual conformation critiques and if I do have a comment I almost always PM. However, I do think we have to draw the line between being supportive and offering constructive criticism (a quick trip to the farrier would be the first step followed perhaps by a few more vit mins) as otherwise it can be a pretty fruitless exercise when it could be a good learning opportunity. Nothing personal, I am just concerned that the horse is given every opportunity to fulfll its purpose in life with long-term soundness and ATM that is not the case.
