Well it's not very often I can post anything positive about my horses, but I'm just so amazingly ecstatic about my youngster. I got her a year ago as a 2 and a half year old New Forest X. She got quite bolshy a few months ago, so a couple of months ago I decided to start doing a bit more with her, and backed her. It's all been done really slowly and only really when the weather's been ok and we've had time.

I really want her to be a good hack, as my TB has really tested my nerve, so my priority is for this one to hack out quietly. This morning the girl who has been doing the bits of riding on her was at the yard at the same time, so I asked her to hack her out, with me walking behind and she agreed. This pony is a completely superstar. About 200yards from the yard we met a bin wagon coming towards us with it's orange flashing lights. The driver slowed right down and Kenzi just had a look and then decided it was fine and walked past. We met three cyclists - two coming towards us and one from behind and two other riders going the opposite way. We also met a car pulling a noisy flatbed trailer. The ford was too deep for us to go through (think raging torrent) so she went over the really narrow footbridge without even looking at it. Never batted an eyelid at any cars. This is the first pony I've backed myself, although I used to help out as a teenager when I was used as the crash test dummy, so I'm just so pleased that this is all going as easily as it should. She is only 3 and a half, hacked alone and met scary stuff.......I'm just soooooo happy!!

You got your bins collected in Christmas Eve!?

Just kidding - very well done to you for all your hard work and to your girl for being a little star :)

So pleased for you HH, perhaps its time we gave up on the nutty TBs!! I think I am getting to old for them now and a nice native-x sounds bliss. :)

*coughs*
Where the bleedin 'eck is the picture to go with this thread?

I know - the first thing I said to my OH when I got home was "I can't believe I forgot my camera!" and my phone is so old that it can only just take and receive texts and calls. The girl who is riding her for me is off school for a couple of weeks now so we'll get her out again and I'll get some photos of her next time - can't promise a photo with a bin wagon passing though!
