Has anyone had this happen before?

I only today picked up a message from a friend who had found an advert using a couple of my pictures from my facebook account a few days ago. She mentioned in the email that she'd contacted the website to say that the photos were fake and the ad has since been removed (not sure whether by the person who wrote it or the website, but doesnt really matter) but I have had this happen a few times now. Once about 6 months ago, someone stole the pics of Charlie I was using to advertise for a sharer and used them for their own bay horse they were advertising! And also, the same happened when I was advertising a lovely pug for sale, people stole his pics!

I cant understand the logic in it, because unless the horse is a clone of mine people who go to view it are going to notice, surely?? And also, a bit miffed about the latest one as my facebook account is (i think!!) completely private and only my friends can view my pics, do i dont know how someone has got hold of those.. They arent pics i've ever posted on any forums so thats a bit of a concern, unless they somehow found my (dog) website and stole the Una pics from there?? Random!!! I have a stalker.

But yeah.. How weird is that??? Anyone else had it happen??

Alot of scam adverts use horse pics from where-ever they can find. I saw one back along for a friesian gelding, advertised at £1000 (too cheap to be true) when I looked at the pics I noticed one was of a top friesian stallion, they were trying to pass it off as this gelding.

Normally when you contact the sellers of these horses (usually they prefer email) there broken English will give them away. Asking you to part with cash upfront, etc.

Yeah, this advert was apparently for a friesian gelding (which Una most definately is not!!), so thats very strange.

Surely its illegal to steal peoples pictures??

Yep, I got an advert sent to me from a friend over xmas of a horse up north being advertised and it was a similar looking mare to mine in what I'm guessing was 'their' photos of the horse stood around tied up, confoshot etc , but all the jumping photo's were my photo's of my mare! With me in the photo as the rider, but the face blurred out!

I sent them an email asking why my horse was on their advert, but never got a reply.
