Whats with the ridiculous trend of a photo showing someone stood up on the horses back??? Yes we get the idea that the horse is safe etc etc does anyone else find this totally annoying and pointless, why people can put on decent confo photos and a couple of action shots just eludes me!!! Arghh!!

IMHO if they pull that old chestnut out of the bag, they are trying to hide other problems. eg......it only has 3 legs but it is safe to stand on its back......that sort of thing.....:)

I think it might put me off going to view. A sort of, if they think that's a sensible thing to do what else have they done? But then I'm not actually looking so I can be very picky about which adverts I dream about going to see!

This drives me mad and not just photos of people stood on the horses back, terrible photos in general. I'm sure your horse is lovely but it is not necessary for me to see an arty close up of his eye!! I reckon I could probably stand on my horses back if I chose to (not that I would) but that doesn't mean he wouldn't try to do a disappearing act from underneath you if there happens to be a funny coloured leaf in his path. It means nothing!!! Rant over :)

Id rather see a clear picture with someone standing on the horses back than one of a horse with a rug on, or just eyes gleaming in the dark from the far corner of a field!!

I saw one on Preloved today where the bridle had a twisted cheekpiece, and the throatlash was somehow threaded over & behind the twisted cheekpiece. Even if someone had managed to put the bridle on the horse before noticing the twist, why would you then take a photo of it before sorting it out? I just don't understand it :(

Was looking a couple of years ago and it really was a mission. I was looking for an unbroken youngster, so you know, a couple of good conformation shots, photos of parents if you had them.

What I often saw was horses in covers, photos taken at dreadful angles, horse disapperaing into the distance, cute photos with children and yes, photos of people standing on the back of two year olds.

Yeah, when I was horse shopping it was baffling the amount of people who chose to stand on their horse and use it as their sale picture!

All I wanted was conformation shots - 2 from side and one from front and then back. Maybe one or two on the flat and one over a jump..but really a video of it on the flat and then popping a small course as well as the confo shots would have been fab

My personal favourite is of a horse stood in the field wearing a rug covering virtually all it's body. Hmmm ok. Are we buying the rug or a horse??

I also nearly spat out my tea once when reading one described as a veritable saint then when clicking through the photos there was a picture if it very clearly napping and half rearing in the hunt field.

People are odd lol!

The photos folk use are unbelievable. I had several videos sent where you could hardly see the horse and several that looked a bit lame. Every second person has an iPhone these days. Its perfectly possibly to get a decent photo of a horse you want to sell. In the end I bought my mare from a video and didn't even view her. It was a brilliant video showing her loading, jumping and being washed off. She is exactly as I expected from seeing the video.
