The world's worst dressage caller. :)

It is definitely a real dressage competition, although not official. Have a laugh. No harm was done. :D The rider went on to win the class, despite all the "help" offered.

saw this on fb..love it. favourites are "circle on forehand, no more on forehand" and "no he is not ignoring you nearly enough". Priceless and sadly quite an accurate depiction of some of our dr tests ;)

Copy the link and paste in your browser :)

I thought my caller's ad libs were bad...but the worst she says is "enter at working trot and smile", "halt, immobility, salute and cute" :D

Thanks everyone for all the love. That is me calling the test. ;) The rider absolutely knew the test, which is the only reason I was comfortable having a lark with it and not necessarily giving her accurate directions in time. She was a really good sport about it. Clearly. :D Even with the error of course, which she said usually happens any time she rides more than one test. She still won, even with that error.

I came up with the "giraffe on a free rein" term from my own delightful horse doing exactly that during her dressage career. She would do a lovely reach down and stretch in walk but then at the smallest distraction, slam her head up and stare off 90 degrees out to the side with gay abandon while continuing her walk. "Horse distracted" was a normal comment during this movement.

This has been so popular I think I need to do a series of them. If only the judges were compliant... :D :D :D

By the way, you are free to share this on your FB or any other forums where you think it might be appreciated. Go nuts. :)

I'm glad to see that Gidget has owned the video because I reckoned it to be one enormous wind up - I actually wondered for the first one and a half minutes if the rider could actually hear the caller or was attached to her in any way - that was until they had a little chat mid test!

I've been known to give commentaries like this - from the horse's point of view until I get thumped in the ribs.

Yes same here I didn't believe the rider was listening til the mid ride swearing session lol

Well, THANK YOU...I love the video and you made a lot of us laugh a lot :)

My pleasure. :) A good sense of humour can take you a long way. I am hoping someone will put it on the H&H FB page so even more laughs can be had. But if not, I'm still really pleased everyone here enjoyed it. :)

Much respect to Gidget for admitting to being the caller on here!! Love the terminology. Maybe we could all do with a bit more loping, whoosh whoosh and giraffe on a free rein. Might make us take ourselves a bit less seriously!!! Thanks for brightening up my day!

I sent it to my friend on FB. I'm reading for her on Sunday and threatened to do it this style!

Probably won't be a good idea though as I'm riding after her and asked her to read for me. Revenge may be sweet!

Good for your rider, teapot! I love it. :)

I have been known to make "rock and roll horns" with my hand when saluting. :D (Have a photo of it somewhere.) I have thus far stopped short of throwing that fist in the air and shouting "Death to all but metal!" at salute. Give it time though. It might make a great video.

Apparently I can't do attachments... Pity, because I do have some cracker photos. :p (And the only links I have the pics on are FB and they're private so wouldn't be viewable.)

I've only done one freestyle and I used the soundtrack from the Van Helsing movie. I also wore a cape. But yes, you have an excellent point. Next freestyle will be AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Poison, Steel Panther... \m/

Oh I love love this made me chuckle please read my test for me like that someone. I have shared on book face.I am stealing you salute style when I do my first test with my new pony ...love it

The yee-ha salute, or the rock and roll salute? :D

Anyone know what sort of voodoo I have to commit to be able to post attachments? I found the pictures but can't post them.
