for the people that live in england

I live in Cheshire. There are loads of horses in this area. Polo ponies and happy hackers, competition horses. All sorts really.l

I'm from Midhurst, W. Sussex (polo town!) but have moved to good old Hampshire where it does seem pretty horsey too. There seems to be a lot of riding clubs and events round here so I think there is quite a high proportion of horse owners.

I'm in Derby, it's not v. horsey at all, not a bridlepath for miles!

Currently living in Somerset, and absolutely the most horsey area I've ever been in - horses everywhere.

Also, and probably related, where the yard is (on the Blackdown Hill's) you get the best behaved drivers I've ever come across - almost makes up for all the tractors. Not everyone of course, but a good 90% are brilliant.

Example - met a guy in a 4x4 with a covered trailer yesterday, stopped as soon as he saw us and when we came up alongside wound down the window and said 'somethings come loose in the trailer so it might rattle a bit when I move off, I'll be as careful as possible but just to warn you" - never got anything like that in Leeds! (where I grew up).

Im from derbyshire, it's very horsey around here. There is at least 8 yards near me, and i can hack out for hours without having to go on many main roads, it's lovely

I'm in Derbyshire too! Loads of horses, loads of livery yards but not many bridle paths or off roading. Where are you Inks_77 - sounds great!!

Where are you? are you in the UK?

I'm in East Sussex, quite horsey, a really good riding club but no hacking and lots of snotty farmers that shout "get orft my land"!!

South Derbyshire. I have two RCs within hacking distance and better hacking than anyone I know. Plenty of competition venues and a choice of local hunts. I would say a very horsy area.

Im from the outskirts of chesterfield, it is lovely, scenic but not too remote from everywhere

we really are blessed with the hacking

I'm south Leicestershire (Wigston) but my ned is in Blaby (literally a 6 minute bike ride down my street to my stables). The lane my stables are, is PACKED with horses. People ride down my street to and even into Wigston town center! LOL, sometimes, I follow the poo trails to see were people are going to give me ideas where to hack

There's not loads of off roading though? Where do you keep the neddies?? I'm Ashover way.

north somerset, weston super mare to be precise! very horsey, stables every where, no riding schools now tho just private stables or liverys.

Leicestershire- Kirkby Mallory. 4 yards on our two mile lane and 4 on the bridle path it sits on!

Edited because I can't spell!

I'm between Chester and Wrexham, lots of country lanes but nowhere for a really good blast other the the farmers fields when they have cropped it.
Have to say, they are very good for letting me blast across 30 acre fields lol

From Northern Ireland

But live in Derbyshire. Lots of horses and lots of offroad hacking and lovely on road hacking as well

Meopham, north west Kent. Seems to be quite horsey out here, we usually see at least one group of riders when we're out hacking and there seems to be lots of horses / stables dotted around. Not really any places to compete within hacking distance though. A reasonable number of byways and the occasional bridleway - millions of footpaths! Bit unfair that there are so many footpaths and far fewer bridleways / byways

Roads are very good, little country lanes which hardly have any traffic, we usually meet one or two cars during an hours hack

I am from Manchester, where my horse is kept links directly onto bridlepaths.
Have quite a few yards round us. I would love to move a bit further out to be able to ride on the moors or somewhere similar.

Bridle paths near us as manic sometimes.

I assume you're not from England - neither am I. I'm from Wales. It's a totally separate country, Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland make up the UK and those of us who aren't English usually get a bit annoyed at people assuming we are!

Anyway I live just to the west of Cardiff (capital city) in the Vale of Glamorgan (South Wales) which is fairly horsey and he pretty good riding - great sand dunes and beaches for riding in particular.
