Well Titus is dead, and from a commercial point of veiw, there are very few stallions which are worth using after death. Mr Blue, Grannus, Ramiro Z, Caretano Z and Darco are some, but Titus didn't make a name for himself either in the sport or breeding.

Capital lives near me, and he didn't make a name for himself either in the sport or breeding.

Lys de darmen was a very good sire, and certainly was in the premier league in Belgium.

Aberqueri is a virtual unknown.

The Uppercut in this case was also an unknown, the life number attached to this horse indicates that he is not THE Uppercut xx.

If you're getting the semen for free from Mick and Tracy, then go for it, although free is not the basis of a good breeding program.

I knew Titus well, and whilst he was a lovely boy, as a breeding stallion he is/was totally unproven, so in effect you will be using your mare to test a dead stallion.

To give you examples of what is out there for a very small covering fee:

High Valley Z (Animo) - 500€ LFG
Quality Touch, brother of Ludger's Classic Touch and by Quick Star - 500€ LFG.
Cinquecento Z (Cento) - 450€ LFG
Cheurano Z, out of the full sister of Ratina Z and by Chellano Z - 450€ LFG
Andiamo Z (Animo) - 750€ LFG.
Aldatus Z (Alme Z) - 750€
Lord Calando, the uterine brother of Carthago Z and the sire of Lux Z - 450€ per dose.
Dallas van Overis (Darco x Concorde x Calando I) out of the uterine sister of Lord Z, who is sister to the dam of 2008 Olympian In Style (Ian Miller) - 350€ LFG.

Ken, thanks for your reply

good to know some information about it all.

I'm not sure who Mick and Tracey are, but i have been able to get the semen from his breeder Jane, at a good price. And this wont be the first foal from Titus, there have been a few produced now and all proving to be very nice indeed. I even went to see one of the 3yr olds Jane still has....Plus someone who has been using Titus for a few years now, is still happy and using him next year with whats left...will be interesting to see what I get, but still a few years left yet to try other things

FYI Jane didnt breed Titus she bought him as a 4yo !!

I must say i know a lot of his offspring and they all have wonderfull temprements but the oldest ones are 3yo so are not proven either !!

I can see what Ken is saying - and to be honest until the offspring are out there next year we have nothing to base it on !! I would personally definately use Titus as i knew him very well xx

Or you could use a well bred stallion standing in england that is available fresh AI with progeny to be seen, and temperaments there for you to see for yourself!- I believe Brendon stud have very nice ones!!!
