Never do away with this as long as the travellers???Not sure if they own neds?,gypsies etc are allowed to own horses, but how do you ban them all?

And i bet they are so well looked after that they are in peak fitness at the time of bombarding their heart, lungs and joints at the time of these cruel and dangerous races.

Now come on JM07 surely you appreciate that this is extremely harsh.

serious trapping ponies...bet they are worth a fair bit....

[/ QUOTE ]

Do good ones have a high value then? I suppose they would - but do any of them stay sound? Curious now. Are the majority of them capable of continual pounding with no ill effects? I've always assumed that they have a short working life, is that naive of me??? Does anyone actually know anything about the 'sport'? I'm interested.

and it goes on and on this one I find particularly disturbing as I am sure that you hear a bump at the begining where he drives the horse into the back of the van.

sorry to go against the grain...but that is SOME serious Pacer....

it must be worth a small fortune....

looked to me NOT frightened/disturbed/scared.....

but DETERMINED.....

Maybe you are not sensitive enough to notice then?-sorry just a thought. Dont take that comment as a criticism.

The stallion without a doubt would demand a high price.

well the ones near me are not well looked after

[/ QUOTE ]

The ones near you (my best friends family's) trotter's are cared for very well, they are treated like royalty. One horse they bought had a very bad back and he spent hundreds putting it right, and also one was sold for £6000!!

You didn't make it clear who you were talking about so I thought Id put the record straight, and just so that everyone doesn't think that all racing trotter owners are bad.
