What do you do with each of them? And did you feel guilty about getting the second one because your current one would feel jealous?

Random I know!

My gelding is my main horse i dont ride my mare.My mare i got for a companion for my gelding.I will hopefully put her in foal next spring.I dont feel guilty about getting another horse because she is there for company.

Ha ha ha I got the 2nd one to keep my old boy Company ... they love each other soooo much that I cannot take the 'old boy' out without the 'new boy' (had him 8 years!) coming too .... I should laugh but it's a bl**dy nuisance!!! as newer one will not stay at home on his own

I have got mother who is 17, and daughter who is 5! A friend has a share arrangement with the mother, so she remains as a companion too.

I have three. Hadleigh is 29 and so semi retired. He hacks out a couple of times a week and my friend normally rides him when I hack the dressage horse out. Sophie was kind of given to us years ago and doesn't get ridden. She is mid twenties and lives out all Summer but in at night in Winter. Finally Whisky who is 13 and a German bred Hanoverian and we try to do dressgae so he works Mon to Fri in the school and hacks out at weekend.

Should we have a thread for those of us with three?

But maybe those with four or more would feel neglected?

And those with only one feel deprived?

So hard to please all the people all the time.......

You don't need to please all of the people all of the time - you only should worry about ME, ME, ME!
And a thread for owners of three horses would be perfect - only fools would have one, two or four plus horses, obviously

PS My assertiveness training is going well, I think.

and they both do different things. 1 is a youngster out at grass at the moment but due to come back into work June / July time. She will then go on to be my dressage horse (fingers crossed). The other which I share with seahorse on here and that we are moving to our new fiesl next week

is a broodmare so as both have different jobs I don't feel guilty at all. And with regards to jealousy these 2 mares love each other so no my baby won't be jealous

Along with OH, I have three. My mare is currently away at the vets to be inseminated!! but she is my main horsey that I hack , SJ & event. My OHs mare is far too big for me and she is a real daddys girl. Our third is only 2 so will be starting a bit of leading out on the roads later this year.

).

I shall make it so.

I now have two but have decided that I really want one for every day of the week as I get bored with two! hee hee

No seriously, I've brought antoher one as Ty, although lovely, won't jump and is not really an 'all rounder' that I always wanted. i try and ride them both but have a sharer so it works out pretty well as she can ride both of them....

Both of mine do pretty much the same thing. Occasionally H is ridden at the back of the field as he needs schooling, which M hates. They both get hacked and jumped at same time. H won't hack alone, and I wouldn't really want my daughter going alone anyway for a longer hack (short one is ok)
Neither of them have ambitions and are easy going, sometimes not ridden for a few weeks but happy to be ridden at any time regardless.

I only have 1 riding horse, the 2nd one is my 11.2hh welsh A that my daughter and friends daughter ride, and then my yearling colt! Its quite hard ''pampering'' 3 horses that all love attention!

i have 2 one is in his twenties and semi retired and i have a nearly 3 year old that i got 4 my 40th birthday before christmas who i adore they both get about the same attention

I have 2 one is a 28 tb who is fully retired and the other is an irish cob, im sure the tb laughs when the cob gets ridden and she just carries on eating grass!!

mine love each other so never get jeolous, except at feeding time when gelding tries to lean over and swipe mares bucket, both do different work and are giving the same attention

One is an 11.2 pony so she isn't ridden but I do a lot of in hand work with her while the horse is ridden and lunged regularly. They both get very jealous of each other but we have a routine which if I stick to they are fine

Got the second one as Will' will have to have an easier life sooner or later and he's not that hard wearing. Love them both for different reasons and they both like a different kind of attention ie Wills likes to be taken places and get out and about with you but doesn't care much for grooming, Cat loves being made a fuss of and would let you mess with him all day.

Technically, i only have the one- but i look after (read, have stolen ) the OH's horse!

Solo is my main boy- he is so special to me and will always be top dog. I hack him, school him and have a good time on him, although he's a bit of a fool!
Red is the OH's horse- I love him to bits and i hack, school and hunt him.

I *think* i love them both equally, but for different reasons- Solo lurves been fussed over, goinf for long rides and going to shows, whereas Red doesn't really like being made a fuss of, and would rather get on with the job!

They're both special to me for different reasons, Sol's special cos i've had him for nearly 5 years and I've been through alot with him, and then theres Red, who's special cos he is so like my pony, who i regret selling!

I love my boys!!
