For those of you with mobile stables, what do you put on the floor?

Hi all,

I have had my mobile stables for 3 years now, and always used a straw bed to date and not suffered any ill effect until with winter with all the blooming rain!
I was on another site the other day which suggested paving slabs with rubber mats over the top- does this work???
What do you tend to use please?

Many thanks

Do remember that if you have mobile stables to avoid planning, any grouindwork will be counted as permanent development by the council should it come to their attention. I'd probably be looking at rubber mats laid direct onto the ground. Moveable if you need to and, while not perfect, will go along way to preventing mud in the stable.

Good quality thick rubber mats (can't remember the brand,
OH bought them) straight onto grass. No hard core as ths would breach planning. Straw beds on top. Lovely and warm and have stayed totally dry.
